| Bad Religion – Slumber Lyrics | 12 years ago |
| If this is in response to my comment I would first like to establish that you misspelled the word "band" and failed to use an apostrophe in the word "don't". I'm not that good at grammar and spelling either, but I'm not the one inferring that I am an intelligent person. You do have an excuse, being a kid and all. Your brain is not fully developed. I would also like to point out that I enjoy Bad Religion's music and lyrics a lot. I have been listening to them for 10 years or so now, have all of their albums, and would like to think I have a decent idea as to what they're all about. What I find very amusing is how fanboys will always seem to think each song is about religion/christianity. What I dislike is the hate I see from certain fans towards the religious. There are leaders and followers. I chose my own path and feel free to question this band's opinions and ideas as well as their fan-base. You blindly follow. Enjoy the life of a yes man. | |

| Bad Religion – The Same Person Lyrics | 13 years ago |

"And we ask for understanding But aren't we the stingy ones indeed When it's needed from us in the end?" My favorite part of any Bad Religion song. Wonder why no one else has bothered to comment. It's a pretty straight forward song, but what is cool about it is the simplicity in which it is written. A wise man does not always need to hide his meaning behind big words and symbolism. |

I'm guessing you probably didn't read Dan da Man's comment. It's funny how the subtle use of words can cause people to think certain songs are about religion all the time. It also shows how willing you are to contort reality to fit your narrow views. I think Greg is kind of irresponsible when he tries preaching the atheist gospel. People misinterpret everything else he says just like religious fanatics do. It sometimes seems as though bad religion fans really hate people who choose to practice religion. And food for thought; If you died and simply ceased to exist, would you not have everlasting peace in that state of non existence since you would not have to deal with the earthly pain anymore? |

| Bad Religion – Atheist Peace Lyrics | 13 years ago |
| This song really isn't that good or clever. People are just proud to be a part of a group like atheism and having a song about it makes everyone feel good. Just my opinion though. I don't intent to change your minds. | |

I just wanted to point out that anyone who says the words "Scientific Consensus" is a complete tard. Ever listen to No Substance; Come Join Us; Against the Grain? "Consensus is not a fact based exorcize" -No substance "I heard you were looking for a way to live where truth is determined by consensus" -Come Join Us (The whole song is laced heavily with sarcasm) "there's a common consensus and a uncomfortable cheer, a reverberating chorus that anyone can hear, it sings 'leave your cares behind you, just grab tenaciously', this lulling sense of purpose will destroy us rapidly.... ...Against the grain" The grain is following that common consensus. If you don't get my meaning after this point there's no hope for you; http://www.american.com/archive/2010/march/when-to-doubt-a-scientific-consensus/ Galliums an idiot, but you're the bigger idiots for getting upset because of what he said. The mature thing to do is to laugh at him and ignore it. You're not debating, you're being children. You all throw around science and knowledge like it means something, but you never once bothered to question what you know. Suck my balls. |

| Bad Religion – Them and Us Lyrics | 13 years ago |
|
Not really about racism, but it's a good suggestion. I'd say this song is about all forms of hate and bigotry. The "Them and Us" mentality. Even Bad Religion fans replicate this behavior by declaring their disgust for religious people. Them and us; Atheists and Christians; Christians and Non-Christians; Caucasians and Minorities; Liberal and Conservative; White Collar and Blue Collar; Common Man and the Tyrannical Government. We don't TRULY know the people we hate because we don't want to. We hate them and they don't even know. And we put ourselves in this group mentality because we know other people share our convictions even though we haven't really met many of them. We feel the need to belong to something and that need causes us to hate the people we feel don't belong. My favorite part is how he describes hate. After reading I don't feel like I can really hate anyone because it makes so much sense. Hate is a simple manifestation Of the deep-seated self-directed frustration All it does is promote fear and consternation It's the inability To justify the enemy And it fills us all with trepidation It's created by the frustrations we feel because of our own inadequacy. It makes us fearful and stresses us out because it's all so sudden and overwhelming. And you cannot justify it no matter how hard you try, which creates even more hate and frustration because you really have nothing to be mad at. This keeps filling us all up with even more fear so it becomes an endless cycle. |

| Bad Religion – Lost Pilgrim Lyrics | 13 years ago |
| I never believe a Bad Religion song is about one person, but more of an ideal represented through a character which can represent a multitude of people. I'd say this represents the Pilgrims coming to the Americas and losing their way. They escaped tyranny only for their children to recreate it years later. By opressing the Native People's, as well as their own descendants, and not excluding the people they've invited to this country. The country has lost it's way. | |

| The religion thing... pfft someone's too cool for school. Not mocking your lack of religion, I just thought that sounded funny in some Holier than Thou sense. | |
| Bad Religion – Murder Lyrics | 13 years ago |
| I love that part. If you had called that fucker by it's name. Like how there's so many ways to say the word murder that will alienate us from the real magnitude of it's meaning. Justice and Revenge. We see them as necessary because someone wronged us, but all in all it's just murder. | |

| Bad Religion – All Fantastic Images Lyrics | 13 years ago |

Cite your sources if you claim that your religion is right. Darwinism is your bad religion. These lyrics aren't really all that bad either. If you have to hide your message in a fuckload of big words you're not really a poet. You're more of a pretentious asshole. Thats why 'less is more' is a good formula once in a while. I find that the lyrics to this song portray it's message elegantly. Wise men don't need to use a lot of words. |

| Bad Religion – Come Join Us Lyrics | 13 years ago |
| after rereading the lyrics I have regained a little trust in Greg. I don't like the position of power he has and it gives me reasons to doubt his intentions are noble at all. 2 guys got it right here. This song isn't about religion. It's about them and us mentality. | |
| Bad Religion – Come Join Us Lyrics | 13 years ago |
|
"Don't you see all the trouble that most people are in" I don't see groups of punks going overseas to help afflicted people in third world countries. I know of a guy who's going to become a preacher who's done that. I know Mother Theresa worked her ass off to help people less fortunate than herself regardless of what religion she believed. You're a fucking idiot. Everyone who has commented in this song (except for thefooligan) has obviously not received a basic education due to their blatant inability to comprehend what they're reading. You only nit pick for horrible things when it comes to religion when you fail to see the good things it has done. I can look at every bad religion song on this site and find at least one retard who thinks the song is about "evil" religion even when it's about the government or something deeper and personal. |

All we want to do is change your mind All you need to do is close your eyes I want to make a new meme called indoctrinating greg. This line here causes a lot of distrust towards this band, for me at least. It could be merely interpreted as satire towards people who try to get other's to join their cause. They could make it the best satire in the world by fooling people into believing they're joining some secret BR club where they can look to Greg to tell them what to do. Anyone watch fight club? After working a door to door sales job I know that the easiest way to manipulate people is to send them mixxed messages. Saying you'll get no direction from me, but at the same time inviting you to join them so they can change your mind while you lie there with closed eyes. Your eyes must be closed so that you can't see that he's just brainwashing you and using your beliefs to manipulate you into following a herd mentality. |

| Bad Religion – Atheist Peace Lyrics | 13 years ago |
| I understand what you're getting at, but you don't understand where I'm coming from. I'm insulting you because you can't seem to look at the goddamn big picture. You and your retarded fucking peers. I am grateful that you decided to take your atheist tard rage down a notch to appear calm and collected in front of rabid foes, but you are just going to show how Ignorant you are of your situation. Me and my peers. Nice group mentality that practices exclusion on the masses. That my friend is how you show bigotry. By excluding others from being like you. From having a great distaste for those who do not share your beliefs. To say that I am a bigot would be flawed, because if I did not tolerate you assholes I would have killed myself long ago. But you manage to get by with eyes closed. You know not of how it is to truly be awake. You use every "intelligent" thought you can muster to make other people look stupid instead of working with them as an "Intellectual" to get better answers. You don't have peers, dude. Merely people following the same fabricated idealism that you've been indoctrinated into without any regard or respect to the others that share it. Upon reading what you posted again I've come to the conclusion that you've completely misinterpreted what I was writing anyway. I in no way called myself an intellectual in the first place. I think those who do are fucking full of themselfs, which in turn is full of shit. Most of the time my friend you are not debating. You are not reasoning because you like so many others hold petty convictions that determine what you're going to say in the end. Have a good day little monkey. May your confusion be a beacon of hope for the Issac Newtons everywhere. I think If I told him what you said, he would give up and smoke a bowl with me. Change his career into something more musical and stop trying to find answers because that is the answer. Even your most idolized Mr Graffin stated that any answers just gonna be full of shit. | |
| Pantera – Cemetery Gates Lyrics | 13 years ago |
| Read "the five people you meet in heaven". I think it would have a very important meaning to you. I am sorry to hear of what you are going through or went through. I hope you can see things through and please understand that where one door closes another opens. The fact that you love her in spite of how she may have treated you or thought of you as is enough proof you need to show that it doesn't matter. Shit is all about forgiveness, man. I hope you're okay even though I've never met you. I've been feeling pretty horrible lately and your story kind of helped me put things into perspective and I feel as though my pain is petty compared to yours. I'm gonna be pulling my strength together to pull myself through, and I hope that you can find courage and strength to pull yourself away from this. I'm sure you can. | |
| Bad Religion – Before You Die Lyrics | 13 years ago |
|
I can really relate to this song in certain aspects. I think I have the best answer here, although I respect your ability to disagree. "Porcelain and alabaster, decaying ever faster" Explains how fake people are and how such a lifestyle would be self-destructive "unaware of imminent disaster open up your eyes." These people blindly led by god knows who. Not Bush really, because all presidents are puppets no matter what wing of this corrupt 2 party system they represent. Pretty much following like the sheep they are and they can't see whats coming. "As you ruminate the hopeless sands of time, did you wander out your days lost and resigned?" As you keep retracing your steps in a depressed stupor, did you wander aimlessly and give up? "Or recreate the universals in your mind?" Or change your perception of every variable in the universe to come back to some higher power, or at the very least some kind of understanding of things. Mind you the mention of a higher power does not mean that Greg believes in it, you crazy Atheists. "Everybody is a bastard; my world is like plaster crumbling apart from pressure by the blaster, Waiting for a sign" Explains itself. Everyone's an asshole and they're responsible for destroying this world I love so much because they're waiting for something rather than taking action. "And the momentary pleasures take their turn as a wistful boy runs out of things to learn, The episodes of yore are never to return." All the material shit we hoard turn on us and lose their luster. For me personally this was bud. Whenever I blazed I would literally think of (most) of the same shit that BR wrote about. I wasn't listening to BR at this point in time mind you, nor had I remembered their lyrics. I'd think really deeply about everything going on personally and in the world and soon I just ran out of shit to think about and had reached a dead end. I thought that I'd never get the years I've wasted back. This part is more subjective because I'm making it a little personal, but I think it still fits. "Scare up some hope, you're gonna need it just to cope you are the decision, numbers don't lie." Stop being a pussy, or you're not going to survive in the end. And you better respect it if not fear what is to come. You are the winning faction because you have power in numbers. 99% vs. 1%? Not a great analogy, but the shoe still fits. When you bite the dust, was it for purpose or for trust? You'll never relive it, think before you die. When you die, did you live to find purpose or companionship? You can't go back so quite literally think before you die. Don't necessarily follow BR to hell, but actually think on your own before you die as a mindless drone. I love Bad Religion, but you cannot fully embrace the ideologies of few and expect to have the freedom of though. Yeah think! Think before you die. Deficit and deprivation--in the wake of desperation We're broke and desperate after a huge cluster of f*** happened. Rewrite the morals, rectify the nation. Now may be your time. Rethink the morals you grew so accustomed to so that you may create new ones to help fix the problem. The time to do so, obviously now. As you ruminate the hopeless sands of time, do you wonder how your life has been defined? As you reflect on every little thing(A seeming hopeless act?) looking for truth, do you wonder how you got to the place you're at now. You know eternity can't ever change your mind. You know eternity can't ever change your mind I'm not sure what he means by this. I've spent a lot of time thinking and I've changed my mind about a lot of things. I used to be a christian conservative, now I'm some weird hippie thing I cannot fully explain. Maybe it's that you don't need eternity to change your mind, only the time you have now. So think! Think Before you die. Think before you die. Hopefully this all makes sense to anyone as it does to me. I like this song a lot although I'm never too sure of the motives behind this band. They're up to something and I wish to know if it's good or bad. It's not like BR aren't somewhat commercial. I can't determine whether it's simply to get the message to more people or to create mindless drones that live for the cross buster. I've seen a lot of that on this site today. |

| Bad Religion – Slumber Lyrics | 13 years ago |
| Actually it is not a blatant lie, you're just a pessimist. You do realize that America didn't spring out of the ground the way it is today some 200+ years ago? We are living in important times. Times where we face the threat of WWIII right fucking now in our own homes. A time where information is abundant and easily accessible. A time where within the span of decades, our level of technology skyrocketed. You don't understand the magnitude of things that exist in the world you live in. We sent men INTO F****** SPACE. That might be an accomplishment equivalent to the particle of a fart from Gods asshole, but that's still astounding for humans. And a lot of people here are saying get over it, when you don't understand why or how you would feel so unimportant; Because the universe is endless space and you're not even close to anything that would resemble a spec of dust in it. Not to mention people all around are arguing with each other, always in discord, always warring amongst each other even through our words. That's why I , personally, feel unimportant anyway. I don't know what petty reasons everyone else is depressed about. I do admit living on earth is a team effort. Why would anyone want to live with such a shitty team that will never understand how to truly play the game? | |
| Bad Religion – Atheist Peace Lyrics | 13 years ago |
| You are by far my favorite person here aside from dead fishy. He didn't word it as well, but his words rang true. One of the reasons I hate all the generic "metalheads" (I'm more of a metal guy) is that they all just arrogantly bash on religion. I'm not saying that religious people are perfect, but at least they're trying in the only way they know. Most of the Christians I've met were wholly wonderful people who I enjoy spending time with. Most of the atheists I've met have been cold and bitter. Not trying to generalize people, but sometimes I think people that cling to labels like atheism for the sake of being in some exclusive club of pseudo intellects are retarded. This is why you are awesome. You are not those douche bags. | |
| Bad Religion – Atheist Peace Lyrics | 13 years ago |
| Who's to say you should not also be denying what you think you already know? Maybe every little fact we have is just a thread in a string of bullshit lies because of course, everything that you have learned has been from a human, and we know how susceptible to error and corruption those creatures are, right? So why stop at religion? Why not question; history; or science; or even your own reality? You think it might be hard to simply let go of religion? How about letting go of everything you've been told? | |
| Bad Religion – Atheist Peace Lyrics | 13 years ago |
| I'm not sure if you kids are from the states or anything, but gallium does make some good points. I've been a BR fan most of my life now. I can say that I enjoyed listening to their music for a long time. I've come to understand things that even Mr. Graffin does not understand, nor do most atheists or christians. Mainly because I took time to think and grow to understand the universe around me. I look at you and I see a glimmer of truth in Galliums claims. You atheists claim that atheists don't generally quarrel and debate things in a peaceful and collected manner. I do not see one shred of evidence of that here. You may not use a sword to harm a man, but you are slick with words and will distort every decent thing left on earth with your childish paradigms. A belief never killed 1 fucking human being on this planet. A man with conviction and naivety did so because he was a f****** bigot. I looked that word up in the dictionary before thinking it was used to describe people who are intolerant of race. In reality it is the people who harbor intolerance and hatred for people who's ideas and way of life do not mirror your own pointless and miserable ones. Greg is a bigot and all of you here are bigots. I hesitate to call myself a bigot because the only thing I do not tolerate is human ignorance and stupidity which is reflected in almost every human being. I myself am no exception. But at least I have the fucking balls to admit it. Unlike Greg and unlike you I have the balls to say, "Hey, every human being knows jack f*** and they will never know anything more" Because when you actually f****** LOOK with your MIND'S EYE (You know that shit where you imagine something and you see it in your head) at how big the f****** universe is and how small and petty you retards are. You will come to understand in this that you're NEVER going to figure out where we came from because people like you will always be bickering and whining instead of fixing the f****** world around you. And because of your fighting you're gonna fuck yourselves into oblivion. If you are an "Atheist" you should know better then to spit petty words like this. Arguing bu**sh** when you're going to die pointlessly and meaninglessly soon due to nuclear war. Unfortunately you are all ignorant bigots and my words are like a librarian's crusade for the illiterate. I bid you all good day and I hope one of you is clever enough to scrounge up a little intelligence in your feeble and mediocre minds to even comprehend what I just wrote, if not question yourselves a little. Intelligence is not based on what you know. It is questioning what you think you know to attain more answer/results/variables. And the variables are endless. This is why I like progressive death metal because the kids aren't as retarded as you and can actually f****** respect others. I dare you little sh**s to refute any of this because I've said all I have to say. | |
