I just figured it out,now an order for you to understand this song fully you should know a lilte about science and christianity.THE BEGGING: is all about evolution. read it carefullyIf the fish swam out of the ocean and grew legs and they started walking and the apes climbed down from the trees and grew tall and they started talkingand the stars fell out of the sky and my tears rolled into the ocean now i'm looking for a reason why you even set my world into motion 2cd: he probably is questioning the existence of GOD 3rd:black and gold ,maybe he wants to go to heaven or hell,and be next to that person he wants to be next to 4th: this man does not know what to believe in,he is confused,always having doubts or second guessing someone or something of higher or lower power.The only things he belives in is what he sees thats his validation. hes saying that nothing really matters without GOD the one he believed in and stiil does Sam doesn;t know who to follow were to go or what to believe in it is all black and gold or blurry. |

i dont necessarily think that he is questioning the existence of GOD, but i believe he is asking why don't i feel you because i want to be close to you.I have believed you were there and now it's BLACK AND GOLD ,my vision is blurry ,im not seeing what I WANT to see.Sam wanted to see everything laid out in front of him so that it;ll all be clear instead he;s seeing black and gold. sam is scared, the stuff he sees is his only knowledge of what is real( HIS ONLY VALIDATION).so if what he believed in so long is not really there than he doesn't want to live, he wants to be with the one he believed in, GOD(wants to be in heaven)he only knew that GOD LOVED him,probably no one else loved him so there is no reason to live.FYI: the gold in lack and gold might stand for the gold streets in heaven. |

| this means that the girl he loved is gone and no one compares to her NO ONE .he wants her back now that shes gone and he isnt content with his new girls and hopes that shes not happy with her new life.its his fault that she left and he is regretfull.when he thinks about it all these girls are just distracting him. | |
