the meaning of this song is not as superficial as you may think. Just ask yourself; why breakfast at tiffany's film and not any other. The main character in breakfast at tiffany's is a girl who had become good friends with a guy who later fell in love with her and she shared all her secrets with him. however the girl could not accept his proposal since she wanted to be married to two other rich guys on different occasions. at last she was arrested suspected of being in possession of illicit drugs and the guy she was about to marry annulled the marriage because of that. she tried to follow the guy but her friend, who had been waiting for her outside prison stopped her, gave her a ring and left in anger and then the girl ran after him and kissed him. the superficial meaning of the song is that at least they have something in common and the deeper meaning is that the guy is reminding the girl that she is his best friend and that he loves her very much and she should not leave him. so romantic... |
