You certainly DON'T have to be a Christian to relate to this. That IS the beauty of it. It speaks to the human condition, to beauty and sorrow, to hope. If anything, I think being a Christian just gives you a framework to see it all from, but that does not necessitate you using that framework to relate to it. Even Christians believe that God has written things on our hearts (What unseen pen etched eternal things on the hearts of humankind) that ALL people understand and resonate with. For me, mewithoutYou stirs something deep within me. They remind me that there is something outside of me worth seeking out, worth my attention and silence. For me, that thing is Christ, my guide in Sinai. |

| I think the 2nd to last line is "save me from this auspicious night". and the line before it is different too. It's tough to tell with Aaron's lyrics though, because he's so careful with his words. | |
