| The Beatles – I Will Lyrics | 10 years ago |
| My comment is about the tone of McCartney's voice. I think it is sarcastically devoid of emotion. This is subtly done and may be tough to pick up. When you do, the song is incredibly funny, like most of the White album. | |

| The Jimi Hendrix Experience – If 6 Was 9 Lyrics | 12 years ago |
| I listened to this song, and it was as if Jimi sat in my head and controlled the music from there. We had conversations that was nobody's business. The most trippy song ever. | |

| Grateful Dead – Help On The Way Lyrics | 12 years ago |

About these 2 lines: Tell me the cost; I can pay, let me go, tell me love is not lost. Sell everything; without love day to day insanity's king. At time I hear the following: Tell me the cost; I can bear any load, tell me love isn't lost. Sell everything; without love every day insanity's king. I'm pretty sure about the 2nd line. The first line I'm probably hearing wrong, and is probably correct in the original lyrics. I'll just leave this opinion here for a year or so, and keep listening to this song. If there are no other comments, I may edit the lyrics. |

| The Beatles – Oh! Darling Lyrics | 13 years ago |
|
It is interesting that no one has commented on the meaning of this song yet. This is strange, as the song means totally opposite of what the lyrics apparently say!! First thing: do NOT believe him when he says, "Oh! darling, please believe me". He's lying! And trying to cover it up! He wants to leave her so bad (but probably does not have the guts to do it himself), that when she actually tells him she's leaving him- he's delirious. Constant repetition of "believe me" indicates that he's lying! The tone of the voice clearly indicates that he'd like nothing more than to harm her. The whooping towards the end of the song on, "When you told me you didn't need me anymore" clearly indicates his sheer pleasure at her leaving him! I suggest listening to the song with this interpretation in mind. It is one of the funniest Beatles song, on a classic album. |

I absolutely LOVE this song. Still cannot figure out what it is about though. I can appreciate the interpretation of falling in love in a dream (more likely a trip)- but tbh it still makes no sense... Regardless, I cannot get enough of this song! |

| The Beatles – Savoy Truffle Lyrics | 13 years ago |
|
The song has meaning at at least 2 levels. 1. The obvious meaning is confirmed by Harrison's 1977 quote, "'Savoy Truffle' on The White Album was written for Eric (Clapton). He's got this real sweet tooth and he'd just had his mouth worked on. His dentist said he was through with candy. So as a tribute I wrote, 'You'll have to have them all pulled out after the Savoy Truffle.' The truffle was some kind of sweet, just like all the rest-- cream tangerine, ginger sling-- just candy, to tease Eric." 2. The song's really about pussy though. Consider: "Cool cherry cream and nice apple tart, I feel your taste all the time we’re apart". Listening to the song with this perspective confirms this interpretation (try it). The song's totally delicious imho. Have fun :) |
