I'm sick of people that want to JUST listen to the music of At The Drive In and especially The Mars Volta (which has the guitarist and lead singer in both of them).
Why? Why, why, why would you JUST listen to instruments of these songs? The lyrics are beyond the best poetry i've ever read even from a few of the greats poets from the 50s and 60s. Please acknowledge for me than JUST the beautiful sound they make. Acknowledge them for the great story and poetic writing they have worked to accomplish just as hard as putting the instruments together. By all means interpret it into your own and dont put down others for their interpretation. THATS ART. THIS is art at one of it's finest. This whole band. |
