I think this song is about a girl being broken up with, and without the boy, she has “just about lost [her] sense of self.” The boy wants to leave, but the girl doesn’t. The girl is so dependent on him, but she won’t let him trick her. She knows that he doesn’t care, even though he acts as if he does… “Stop pretending, Drawing the lines you're not concerned about me." The boy thinks he knows what she feels, but he doesn't.
