I could agree with every comment listed. Maybe Sean wrote it with the intent of having it be interpreted in many ways...or at least acknowledging that it could be. I wish I could remember where I found this interview but a few years ago I watched an interview with him just after this album was released...he basically said that in past albums he wrote most songs about his own experiences, but when he wrote lemons, he wrote all the songs except one (didn't say which one, but I think it could be "yesterday") with a "storyteller" viewpoint...I think he said this was intentional because all past albums were mostly based on his own life...So this song COULD be the one off the album he wrote about himself but I doubt it...I think he is just telling a story but not about his own personal experiences necessarily. If anyone has the time to do a little research, it should be fairly easy to find this interview or others about this particular album. If anyone does find it, please post a link!!
