Rise Against – Death Blossoms Lyrics 13 years ago
Your generally on the right track of the older taking from the younger, but I have to disagree that this song is exactly about what you have said. I beleive its more about how the innocence of children are taken by those who only want money. More info below.

Rise Against – Death Blossoms Lyrics 13 years ago
I believe this song is about how our world is destroying childrens innocence through TV, violent games, and generally sending them the wrong message.
Hence the lines:
"What they stole was innocence" - loss of innocence.
"The image of the world reflects itself in the childs eye" - Children see the world through technology, and dont know for themselves what is right or wrong.
"We eat our own to stay alive". This is the most contraversal statement, yet its actually quite simple. The people who ruin the innocence of children dont care about what they are doing as long as they get a paycheck at the end of the week.

Rise Against – Broken Mirrors Lyrics 13 years ago
More analysis necessary:
OK! This song shows that we want to be someone else, but cant. Everyone thinks that they are a hero, and that they are doing the right things, but when they realize they aren't they see an "unfamiliar face".

Rise Against – Elective Amnesia Lyrics 13 years ago
The definition of Elective Amnesia is basically: To choose to forget. Elective=a course choice at school. Amnesia= loss of memory. This applies to the song, because Americans are escaping from their problems and turning to an imaginary world of electronics to distract themselves. Its basically the same as drinking alcohol to escape from your problems. The song/band is telling us to "cut the cord" and face our problems. Also the part with about our conveniences has already been covered above. ^^
