It seems like the negative version of 'when one door closes, another door opens'. When one gate of hell closes another opens I guess. After she got out of her unhappy relationship maybe she faces something else, and she wonders, is this what will break me or is this just a different way for me to suffer? Also I see a little bit of Call Me When Your Sober pt.2. First she rightfully blames him and calls him out, then he victimizes himself; and now she had deal with people, including him, blaming her. So she apologies (save your twisted enemy) and just when the pain of mistreatment faded away she has to deal with a new pain of being unfairly blamed. |

"As much as it hurts, ain't it wonderful to feel..." I love that line so much. I wonder what it means for me that this and "Marry The Night" both have the highest playcounts on my list. They have much of the same meaning. Go after your dreams even if you might fail and that failure hurts so much but hey it's better than an empty life with no feeling at all right? |

The song is so dreamy it makes my imagination run WIIIILD. This is beyond random but work with me. It reminds me so much of transgendered people. If your parents/peers/etc say things like, "Your life would be so much easier if..." then you would you have to make the change all on your very lonesome (swim an ocean all on your own). Look at the song like the true self talking to the wrong sex and wrong gender that the parents/society have tried to build. And you can't hate that person because that's your past--always a part of you "I adore you still..." The lines "I will no longer understand" could mean 'I don't understand the members of the sex I was born as" and "I can not betray my kind"..."I can not pretend to be a boy/girl and act like the other is stupid". And then "way down underneath this skin is" is obvious...even though I could have sworn she said "weighed down". |
