| Just stumbled upon your thoughtful comments, and couldn't agree more with everything said. Ian's initial title for this song was When The World Was Kind as he obviously couldn't help but notice the unfortunate shift you describe. And the song is stunning - simultaneously joyous and gut wrenching for those of us that do remember a kinder time and mourn the loss of that for ourselves and our children. I simply have never been as emotionally moved by a song and the soulful voice singing it - ever. "Cause everybody lies and we're stuck in the middle". So, so true. I also liked it better when the world was round. | |
