Love this one! Fav. Dead song!! My thoughts are that it's kind of a story about someone thinking what it will be like to die and the unknown factor of what happens. Pondering that not knowing may make life sweeter and although our creation and death are a mystery we as humans will always try to find the answer. "Your rain falls like crazy fingers Peals of fragile thunder keeping time " -Talking about Creation or Creator. "Recall the days that still are to come some sing blue. Hang your heart on laughing willow stray Down to the water, deep sea of love beneath the sweet calm face of the sea swift undertow." - About the up's and downs of life love and possibly our carefree nature from not knowing our fate or reason of being. "Life may be sweeter for this, I don't know, See how it feels in the end." - Not knowing might make life sweeter. We will see and find out at the end of life. "May Lady Lullaby sing plainly for you soft, strong, sweet and true." - wishing a peaceful transition into the end/death "Cloud hands reaching from a rainbow tapping at the window, touch your hair So swift and bright strange figures of light float in air." -The creator reaching down from above taping on your window/body to awaken your soul to trancend. Softly touching your hair calming you. Seeing the bright light we hear about and the strange figures being our souls/angels/guardians whatever you believe. "Who can stop what must arrive now? Something new is waiting to be born Dark as the night you're still by my side shine inside - A new form of life/being. Your present life is dark now gone but your soul still shines insde you. "Gone are the days we stopped to decide where we should go, we just ride. Gone are the broken eyes we saw through in dreams gone, both dream and lie." - Your former earth life gone your cares, worries, loves come to be nothing that concerns you. "Life may be sweeter for this, I don't know, Feels like it might be alright, While Lady Lullaby sings plainly through you Love still rings true. - In the end maybe not knowing may be a blessing. If in the end we there is nothing and we were just some chemicals in the air that would be kind of a let down. With life and death a mystery and being able to have these dreams and hopes helps make things feel alright. "Midnight on a carousel ride reaching for the gold ring down inside, Never could reach it, just slips away but I try." - Reaching for the gold ring (meaning for you soul/life) and although we will never know we still seek the answer. I also agree that as in above statements that this may also be refering to the carousel ride where you attempt to grab the ring which seems like a impossible and dangerious task but you still try. |

| The way I think of its beautiful yet very sad. I think its about a person in love and in a serious relationship with someone (but not married)who is very sick/dying like Cancer or something along those lines. Honestly listen to it now and think about it. It makes sense. | |
