| For those who don't know what Bushwick is. It is an artist neighborhood that is becoming gentrified after being a ghetto (although it still kinda is one). The subway that goes to Bushwick is the L train (and JMZ subways). This song must be about either the songwriter or the songwriter's girlfriend living in Bushwick. It is also possible that the title comes from an important night in their relationship where the went to Bushwick, most likely for a party because that is the only thing there really is to do in Bushwick. | |

Your idea is wrong as far as prostitutes go. Bushwick is the broke artist/musician area of Brooklyn, NY. Most likely the lead singer either lived in Bushwick or dated a girl in Bushwick and this is his song about her. While prostitutes may be a problem in Bushwick, as a resident of Bushwick, what the reputation of the neighborhood is among artists today is that is the area where all their friends live. Another theory is that neither of them lived in Bushwick, but they just went to a party there and the night was memorable. |
