I think this song is more about him talking from the grave, thinking about regrets, but still remembering the positive memories as well, and telling his girl to remember the good/positive things... - "there's a heaven above you." Or, "I'll still be thinking of you and the times we had." To me he's speaking in death, from the grave. And of course in the video you see him trying to talk to her from beneath the earth, under the grave. I mean, the song is so great. It's kind of all over the place, but I'm not criticizing it for that. Again, what a great song. It's definitely open for debate, but I do think there's a death element to it. Again, "don't you cry tonight there's a heaven above you." In any event, the ending of the song when the pace picks up is my favorite song of any, all-time. To me there's no song with a greater ending. |
