A personal favourite from The Fake Sound Of Progress, not the best, but a personal favourite. I love how the feel of it to start with is jaggedy and doesn't really flow. It's a cool sound, but then it gets the middle bit and "And now I've seen the world and it's all I can believe" the guitars run on, and sounds like it flows, contrasts really well, sound brilliant. Then it goes jaggedy for another verse and finishes flowing. Brilliantly written, use of contrasting sections is great |

bevanc00, that's a good idea. But I reckon Lostprophets don't do political stuff much. I think it's more sarcastic, be it towards the government and leaders or to someone who is blatantly lying from them, but I think they're being sarcastic, especially from the line "Tear the sun from my skies, I will never know" - if this happened in real life, it's be blatantly obvious (there be no sun, innit), maybe reflecting how obvious the lies are and mocking the liar |

I think he has sleeping problems, has insomnia, and is really considering a sleeping pill (hence Valium, I think). I think this is the true crime he talks about. Amazing song though, 5 stars |

| The Riverboat Gamblers – Don't Bury Me... I'm Still Not Dead Lyrics

Yeah I sort of agree with kat2011 with the way he sings it; it does have a very deep meaning but he sings the words too fast; if they came out a bit slower, I'm sure the meaning of the song would stand out more and pack more of a punch.
But I love this song and it's attitude of never giving up, it matches the way the song sounds, also love the line "And to the confusion of our enemies, just keep screaming out I'm Still Not Dead". Like how they use and album name as lyrics in a song.
Riverboat Gamblers are so underrated, I wish punk rock music like this was still fairly big today as it was 5/7 years ago |

| Zebrahead – What's Going On? Lyrics

Ali said that with every song they write, there will be a meaning behind it (tongue in cheek or not), but he said if a song means something to you that is different to what we (the band) wrote it about, they'd rather you carry on thinkin it means what you originally thought, not what the band intended it to mean. It's kind of complicated, he says in an interview I saw on Youtube.
To be honest, with Zebrahead, it's about what you believe the song to mean to yourself, not what the band intended it to be about.
At first I didn't like this song, but when I really listened to it, I find it's quite a beautiful song, amazing band, Zebrahead |
