somebody here wrote rage's message is always the same, not specific, and vague, or something like that.. I definitely have to dissagre with that. At least in my case, I've learned a lot from zack's lyrics man.. for example, reading into the battle of los angeles lyrics I got into george orwell, just read some of his books and you'll get the message! you have to know your history, you have to educate your self, that's the first step! listening to this album (ratm 1992) I started researching and learned about manifest destiny, malcolm x, marthing luther king, the zapatistas, and there are a lot of other things to get to know about, you just have to be interested in learning more about what their lyrics actually talk about.. And also, learning about US history inspired me to learn about the history of my own country (I´m from Paraguay) cause here they teach us only lies in school. saludos desde el tercer mundo greetings from the third wolrd! |

| thanks to bands like korn, deftones, and others from the same era that were on the mainstream (back then) I became more interested in learnig what came before them in music, like ratm, cyppress hil, rhcp, pantera, helmet, metallica, sabbath, and all kinds of bands from different genres, cause the so called "nu metal" movement was always about opening your mind and embracing new types of music, so they kinda opened the door for me to discover so much shit that I'm into now. I think there's no point in putting down any band, music is about coming together.. I´m from Paraguay, southamerica, and it´s because of music that I'm able to comunicate with you, since it helped me a lot when I was learnig your language.. piensa en todo eso amigo | |
