I’d say it’s simply about a relationship that started with one (or both) people knowing it wasn’t going to last, for whatever reason. "We were based on end" "Everyone always arrives already gone” The end of the relationship was foreseen. When it says that “love is time, and it just passed” and the lines after that explain in depth that they were just passively together... At the beginning he explains that he was struck by her, maybe just by her beauty and he was probably okay with the reality as long as he’d be able to have someone around Eventually he got over her. "We were based on an end, it's as if everyone always arrives already gone" & "you were everything I wanted at night. You were a dream, but come light. I lost what I saw in you”.. these lines really hit me. I could heavily relate. I don’t know how accurate I am but this interpretation works for me. |
