Such a beautiful song by a brilliant band. I think it's about a lack of knowing what to do with oneself after a break up and just wanting to escape from it all, the desire to stop relishing in it. Complete escapism is the priority while getting to terms with it being the end. Even when another individual, who could potentially be the ex partner, who appears to be dealing with things better by the fact they are giving advice, is reinforcing the 'truth', that it is indeed the end. The guitar is just perfect throughout this track. Love it! |

Absolutely adore this song and this band. It's got that great indie feel and lyrics are just perfect for this song. I love how he starts a line and repeats it with a more detailed finish.I think it conveys his own acknowledgement of how raw he is after what he has experienced. The song allows him to grow and state more firmly how he feels as he reflects back. The lyrics convey so well (to those of us who can relate)the importance of hindsight as one looks back at the absurd feelings of hope we had for someone who was a complete tool. Love the simple resentment in this line: "It starts with a kiss, but ends with a bitch". But I love how he deludes himself into saying he is done with love, that he will never go there again- just showing the pain of what he has gone through. A really great song. One of my favourites. |
