This song sounds like shes crying out to her mom. Her mom acted afraid or timid of life, and she learned that from her mom and now shes repeating the same things. I think that she must have written this after a breakup wherein she realized that she was acting like her mom and this is her way of saying that she wont repeat the pattern. |

I think this is a boy telling a girl hes no good for her and to leave him alone. The line "give me a shot to remember" is him suggesting she hit him or leave him with a good stinging remark. Basically he wants her to leave but he almost acts like he wants to start a fight so she will end it angry and not be sad she left him. |

This song is most definitely about a woman who has an eating disorder. I think its just one of her problems. It seems this woman is very unhappy and therefore has unhealthly habits. (I.e. an eating disorder). The line "so take this moment, Mary Jane, and be selfish" is the singer telling the woman to move on and get better. When I was in high school, I thought that the song was talking about a woman leaving an abusive relationship. But that could also be an unhealthy addiction like an eating disorder or even a drug problem. |

I think this song is a parent singing to their child, trying to comfort them and letting the child know that they will protect him or her. But I feel that some songs, like this one are a lot of what feelings we put into them. Anyone who has taken a literature course knows that there can be a million interpretations for the simplest phrase. |

Thats funny you should say that cause when I first heard this song, I thought the lead singer was Julian Lennon. John Lennon's son. It wasn't until I found out that the band was Australian that I stopped believing it was. |
