To me it's definitely about somebody who had risen to power, let it all go to their head, lost everything, and is now able to reflect upon it. It just uses religious and historical phrases to help convey the message. Also, I'm not going to look over all these comments, but am I the only one who views the line "seas would rise when I gave the word" not literally having anything to do with water, but referring to a large amount of people en masse? It just seems like a phrase backing up what we already know, that it's focusing on someone who holds so much power that people would do anything and everything for them at their command. |

"I got so tied in" would actually be "I got so saddened" while much later in the song "There was the night we" should instead be "That was the night we" However as far as I can tell everything else is pretty spot-on! |

"And I ran and I crawled and I chased to get out fast" is actually "And I ran and I crawled and I chased to get a taste" Not really sure how much those lyrics make sense, but you can even hear a very prominent T sound and it is definitely not "fast," not to mention "taste" blends and rhymes better with the line. |

The first part should actually go: "Everything's always better Whenever I'm at rest I'm wound up tighter than A dried up bird's nest" "I don't know what are you now" should be "I don't know what I need now" That part's pretty hard to hear to begin with, but I'm positive what's up there right now is not correct. "If I did know one thing it's me whose feeling strange" should instead be "If I do know one thing it's me who's feeling strange" "Yes everything is different" would be "'Cause everything is different" instead! |

I'm looking at the lyrics pamphlet, and I just really need to point some things out! "Is the way my life's got to be" should be "Is this the way my life has got to be" And "By a single opportunity" should be "Have I a single opportunity" The chorus, where it says "Is this the way I've always been" should be "Is this the way I'll always be" "Now I'm dreaming somebody would simply come and kidnap me" should instead be "Now I dream that somebody will swiftly come and kidnap me" "It reels and calls me towards it" would be "It reels and calls me toward some" Where the ? is actually goes "I've colored all these like the branches twist" And "Just like we settle in the foggy mist" is instead "Just like we settle in the frothy mist" |

Whoa, who died and made you Michael Angelakos? I had no idea you were his good buddy and he confided in you all the meanings to his songs! But really, let people believe whatever they want to believe. People will have their own interpretations of the lyrics regardless of what the song is "actually about," so take a deep breath, relax, and continue interpreting it however YOU want to interpret it. |
