I think the relationship thing is on the ball. the middle section really shows conflicting thoughts for me, because its like he thought he loved her, but then she got inside and is just destroying him from the inside out. Disturbeds songs, while so simple, have so much diverse meaning. i love disturbed |

Trust me, I'm confident in my beliefs/lack there of. I really don't mean to start up ridiculous hate conversations, I'm just sharing my views of the song. It just irks me that people try to say that this isn't about God/religion, when it clearly is, and I was merely proving my point. I just fail to see why people but so much time and devotion into religion, and never get anything out of it. When I would go to church, i would see people who would pray all day, and then when the tiniest thing would happen, it was God. The devoted all the time in the world, and the only thing they had to show for it was years of time wasted in that church. Can you honestly say to your self that God has answered a prayer of yours? |

Obviously this song is against religion in everything it says.
People tend to follow a religion, because if they didn't, they would realize how shitty there lives are, and that they can't accept that what happens to them isn't without a higher being controlling it. And ones who are in a religion don't quit, (not because they believe in their faith) but because if they did, they would realize that they have been wasting their lives/time into nothing. So people blindly believe these fake religions. He's saying that people create these fabricated faiths (a lie) to make them selves feel better, and that they must Believe their "lies" to "renew their faith with God", and that in REAL life, believing in your "faith" doesn't make you clean, blameless or sinless. (all your penance can't absolve your sin, all your belief can't absolve your sin).
So don't say this song isn't against religion, because it is. Just because you sad, pathetic religious nuts listen to Disturbed, doesn't mean its going to fit into your beliefs. Just accept the facts, and realize that your a fucking hypocrite every time you listen to one of their songs. Religion can devour people whole, brainwashing them into their pathetic beliefs. So be sensible, I beg you, and drop your religion before it consumes everything that you are. |

I think this song really describes how i feel about God in general. Religion in general pisses me off more than anything. Fuck God. |

Is it possible this song could have more than one interpretation?(*gasp*) ever think that maybe there isn't just one right answer? that's what makes music great. what may mean one thing to you, may mean another thing to me. |

For all of you reading xiiBrokenTV's comment, hes wrong. not everything relates to the holocaust. in fact, only like two might. just because the titles can be scewed into that meaning, that doesn't necessarily mean that's true. its just like the Bible, you could distort it to say whatever you wanted. Yes, the holocaust was terrible, but that's not what this is about. |

The West Memphis Three have been released! i think alot of this is due to Black Flag/Rollins Band, and Disturbed for writing songs, and bringing this horrible story to light. |
