Yeah Mick held things together for a few years there but Richards had done that earlier, picking up the slack for the very unreliable Brian Jones. Jones missed a good number of their live shows through the mid-late sixties and the guitar work and creation of Beggar's Banquet and especially Let it Bleed were left solely to Richards. Also, a better lead guitarist (Mick Taylor) doesn't necessarily equal better musician (Keith Richards). Taylor at the very least is far less dedicated. |
