I love this song. Seems like it's about the "cool kids" in high school, who everyone loved and wanted to be friends with. And kind of that being loved in your teenage years doesn't mean you'll be successful later in life. But there's also that boy in the song, that bullied kid with an ugly smile, who probably spent his saturdays studying instead of partying. As I think of it, that boy dreamed of being friends with the "cool kids" and admired them. But it turns out that the bullied boy lives a happier life than that cool girl after school. Kind of long explanation, but it's a great song. |

To me, this song is about someone who's in a car accident and when he's in the ambulance he looks back at his life and realizes that it hasn't been that great. He has only broken promises and regrets. "They've given me a second chance The artist in the ambulance", it makes me think that, as some people already pointed out, that the paramedics are "the artist in the ambulance", and the paramedics saves his life and he decides to change and make the rest of his life more than just flashing lights and sound. This is one of the best songs ever. |
