This is absolutely the worst song I have ever heard. It is incredibly poorly written and ridiculously cliche. I wish 3 Doors Down would hang it up. Awful. |

I think it's funny that Johnny GT is calling other people crazy lfor anything. Just read one of his posts, and then ask yourself who is crazy. Besides, the "religious people" aren't the ones who made this song mean what it means. So if you hate it that much, then take it up with Dustin...or just keep your opinion to yourself. |

Ok, although so far the explinations have been interesting and worthy P.O.V.s, I believe that I have decyphered what Dustin was trying to say when he wrote this song.
Incase you didn't know, Dustin (singer/lyricist) is a Christian. When he says "Old friend" I believe he is talking about Christ. When he says "They told me you were dead" he's saying that the world around him is telling him that the deity of Christ is a myth. "Your love was ravished, drawn and quartered...in the name of love" speeks directly of the crucifixion. "But I still feel you despite your tombstone" speaks of the Holy Spirit and how altough the world around is saying that Christ is not the Son of God, he knows that he must be, because he can feel the Holy Spirit within his own life. "So friend you must still walk among us" is refering to the conclusion that Christ must still be alive (hence the good ol' saying "Jesus Lives") because he is felt within the soul. This is my theory, and it is not flawless, because I don't understand the "Killing Airastotle" part, but I'm fairly confident with my interpitation of the lyrics. Happy listening! |

This is definatley a song about Tim from The Due Backs. I know this is true, because Paul and Andy are constantly writing songs about him, and discussing who writes more songs about him. I guess he's a cool guy, but...come on you guys... |

There was a girl who was (and still is) very special to me, because she was more than a "girlfriend", but she was a really good friend, and a really great person. I made some mistakes, and this is just my way of saying "I'm sorry." |

Many people (myself included) often live our lives focusing on the material things, and we forget that (believe it or not) there is something else out there, and It's bigger than you, and you should spend some time thinking about it. That's pretty much what this song is about. |

This song's pretty plain and not quite as cryptic as some of my other lyrics. It's just about leaning on God as I face some of the hardest things I've had to face so far in my life. |

I wrote this because at the time, I was feeling a little unstable about being "in the world, but not of the world". It's just about how impossible it can seem to keep focused on God, when we are so blinded by the things this world has to offer, (which isn't much). |
