This song always reminds me of my father :L It's like saying 'you've only ever cared about yourself; screw you, you did nothing for me!' and 'bet you're pissed now I've made something for myself and you and nothing to do with it'. I think the 'why was I never good enough' line speaks volumes! Robbie wanted to get along, he tried, but was shot down & kicked out, then bounched back, on his own accord. |

it's sounds like a falling out, maybe a break up. maybe it is about the gallaghers, or his relationship with nicole appleton? or perhaps, (which i find a more compelling argument) himself and Guy Chambers. |

I think that this song is about him knowing that his life hasn't been the best he could've made it (drink, drugs, womanising). this is how i interperate it, but it may just be a load of crap :L "Send someone to love me/I need to rest in arms" - he wants to feel the 'love of a good woman' as such, instead of flitting from one womans bed to the next. "keep me safe from harm/In pouring rain" - he wants to feel looked after, safe from his addictions maybe? his life is the pouring rain "Give me endless summer/lord I feel the cold/feel I'm getting old/before my time" - summer's a good time, (sexual refe3rence maybe?). he knows addiction's taking it's toll. "As my soul heals the shame/I will grow through this pain/Lord I'm doing all I can/to be a better man" - he genuinelly wants to get better. "Go easy on my conscience/Cos it's not my fault/I know I've been told/to take the blame" - he blames what he went through and his rise to fame & fortune (possibly with take that though more likely the fame) for how he is. "Rest assured my angels/Will catch my tears/walk me out of here/I'm in pain" - angels = fans possibly? walking out of take that? "Once you found that lover/you're homeward bound/Love is all around/Love is all around" - everything fits in place when you're in love "I know some have fallen on stony ground/But love is all around" - don't give up |
