Bombay Bicycle Club – Always Like This Lyrics 14 years ago
This could be about one of three things I reckon.
1) It's about someone being in-love with him, but him not loving her back; 'you waste it all'. And potentially, merely in a relationship with her for no apparent reason, whilst being in love with someone else.

2) This is a controversial one but I think this seems most likely.
I think the song about being Bisexual;'She knows what I am, but she won't believe me'. And about him entering into a non-sexual relationship merely to hide his sexuality? 'Is it all okay? Will I come off the lightest' and 'She can wait for what I can give' - even though he can't give it (i.e. fall in love with her)?

The line, 'Kept it at bay' kind of sounds like he's managed to repress his sexuality up to this point, and 'yes, you kept your word' makes it sounds like although he has told her he is bisexual (and either asked her to keep it a secret or she has promised that it wouldn't effect their relationship)

'I'm not whole...You waste it all' definitely sounds like he is not wholly interested in her, and therefore she is wasting her affections?

Ben Howard – Old Pine Lyrics 14 years ago
Absolutely incredible. Such a pure song.
I'd say he's singing of his young teenage years; judging by the mentions of 'bony backs' 'memories' 'careless and young' and the references to growing old. It's like he's gone down to Cornwall or Devon for a camping trip and fallen in love with either someone or the experience itself. It's such an in-vocative song - and great to see a singer-songwriter actually choosing to write something about his personal experiences (that others can also relate too) rather than generic, 'popular' kind of stuff.
