Bob Dylan – Positively 4th Street Lyrics 13 years ago
This song was written by Bob when he went to electric guitar from his roots of acoustic and he is being shamed by his old folk singing friends. They are not "happy with their position and their place" but if a friend moves ahead they act as if it is a betrayal. He just wishes they could see themselves through his eyes and they would relize how stupid they look and sound.

Rod Stewart – Reason To Believe Lyrics 13 years ago
The song is about a man who loves this women so much that, although he knows she is lying he can convince himself (through minimizeing and denial) that she is telling the truth. He doesn't want to be without this love in his life no matter how cruel she is to him he wants to find that reason to believe and stay with her in his happy little life of blind denial. Most likely because her cruelty is too hurtful for him to face and bare.

Led Zeppelin – Stairway to Heaven Lyrics 13 years ago
My interpretation is much different then all of yours. "theres a lady who sure that all that glitters is gold and she buying a stairway to heaven"- This line is not referring to bad thing, such as drugs or money, because it claims she is buying a stairway to Heaven-Only good people go to heaven. I believe it is saying that all that glitters is gold such as the glitter in the eye of a new mother looking at her beautiful baby. Or the glitter in the eye of a schoolboy with a crush.

"There's a sign on the wall but she wants to be sure 'Cause you know sometimes words have two meanings."
"In a tree by the brook, there's a songbird who sings, Sometimes all of our thoughts are misgiven."
She reads the signs but doesn't want to interpret anything wrong about anything-meanwhile the songbird is singing. -Which is something many of us are too busy in thought of ourselves, to hear.-similiar to the old saying 'stop and smell the roses'-but this is stay, quiet and hear the songbird for a moment.

The song goes on and on and I will just add that she is an angel trying to make everything in our lives gold and if we just stop and hear the call, we too can see life in this beautiful way. But we have to stop, "to and be rock and not to roll." The havoc of daily life and and our own shortcomings such as materialestic natures, selfish way, greed, etc. has made us all too engulfed in ourselves to see the glittering gold in everything in our lives right now.

Bob Dylan – It Ain't Me Babe Lyrics 13 years ago
This is such a great song. Only Bob Dylan, could break up with someone while she is standing at his window as he has another female inside, yet so eloquently, convinces the jolted forlorn woman that he is doing her a favor. She left his house thanking him, I bet.
I love Bob Dylan.

Bob Dylan – Quinn the Eskimo (Mighty Quinn) Lyrics 13 years ago
"Quinn the eskimo" -ya know, 'snow'. Snow is old slang turm for cocaine. In the first days of cocaine discovery, cocaine was the drug of choice. People loved the "happy, feel good" high. They even believed it was not physically addicting. Which, compared to herion may be true. However, the mentally addicting effects of the drug are just as strong as any other drug addiction.
'When Quinn the eskimo' gets to the party or wherever "here" is, and the whole mood of the place changes, 'everybody's gonna jump for joy" - just from the thought of doing cocaine, will put a lift in a users spirit." (Which is how addicting that drug can be). "When Quin the eskimo gets here, the pigeons will go to him" He is comparing coke whores and etc. to pigeons.
