I disagree with some of what CapuchoPacheco said I think the "crackhead" character can't be Bush, he's someone who is praying for riots. Also I think the line is "Let the only honored bond / be the kinship of the kids and the riot squad" And the line about "the bible and the wedding band both hidden in the tv stand" doesn't strike me as anti-religious. If it implies anything (and I'm not sure it does) it implies that she's (or we) are neglecting to be loyal to her marriage and faithful to her religion.. but I kind of doubt it means I see the song as being more about the uncertainty and tragedies of war, the yearnings they invoke, and the responses to war, self-righteous, preening, frivolous, violent and maybe justified or maybe mad. |

I think the last line but 1 is wrong It scans better and make much more sense as: "May our only honored bond Be the kinship of the kids and the riot squad" |
