| The concept of adhd may not have been widely spread at that time, or even formally exist, but that does not mean that people who had these symptoms, didn't have it. So, in actuality, adhd did 'exist' we as a society just didn't know about it at the time. That doesn't mean that someone couldn't have written a song explaining how they felt, while wondering what it was that they had that made them feel this way. just because there was not a label for adhd doesn't mean that people didn't have it. it's been around for hundreds of years, and just now in the past few decades are we really learning about it. | |

| i agree with the statement that was posted by 'Eamonon' on April 17, 2008, posting 'straight from the horses mouth' to an extent. some people don't really like the idea of being with that other person who 'completes' them. sometimes they think that they, themselves, are enough for themselves. i don't know if this idea has to do with something deeper inside of them though, something they haven't dealt with psychologically yet, but, it might be. maybe we all do need someone to love, but some of us just don't know it yet. | |

"Alone Sex in shadow says The words We threw These words Have been such a waste" "alone sex in shadows" to me means that this is a hidden relationship between two people. they don't tell anyone else in their lives that this relationship is going on. they wait till there is time to hide away and have the relationship, hence the 'in shadows' bit. the 'alone' part is that no one else knows that there is this relationship between them, also, if you are in a relationship that you are hiding from everyone else, it can be a lonely place when you are not with that person you are having the relationship with. You can't gush about it with anyone but a diary. You can't get advice about it from anyone. you are alone in it till it is through or till you both decide not to hide it any longer. Maybe it is just a repeated one night stand. maybe it is just about the sex but something keeps you coming back for more, and you are too ashamed about it to share it with others. "The words We threw These words Have been such a waste" So the sex had by these two people has been decided by at least one person to be more than sex, that it must be something more, and they tell the other person about how they feel. they may even throw out the words 'i love you' because they feel such a connection to this person, that it feels like love. the 'have been such a waste' part is pretty much the other person responding badly to the 'i love you'. therefore there is unrequited love, and the 'i love you' which meant so much to one person, doesn't mean anything to the other because it was purely a physical sex connection and not anything more for them. "So I Will forget your face Each time We're through" the person who said the 'i love you' doesn't quite want to let go of this thing they have even though it is just sex now. maybe they have a secret hope that it will be more some day if they just keep going back and stick with it. They can't get too attached though, because there is nothing solid about the relationship presently, so they hang on but try to forget it ever happened in the mean time in between the times of not having sex with that person. they always come back for more though. I sense there is some distance between these two people not only emotionally but also physically, as in it seems it might be implied that they live a bit far from each other. so, they get together when they can and they have sex, resulting in one growing a love that is not given by the other person in return. therefore the one who is in love has to use "antibodies" so they don't get too attached, while secretly knowing that it may be too late for that anyways. the other person who claims not to feel the love also could be using "antibodies" in order to not feel the love. They might be too afraid to fall in love so they put up a wall, making sure the "antibodies" cause them to be emotionally distant so they can ignore the love feeling. thoughts about the music video: what happens if the girl in this situation gets pregnant? is the girl the one who shows the love, or is she the one who won't allow her self to feel the love? if she feels the love and might be pregnant, then she worries that this will be the end of the relationship, wonders how the other person will take it; will they leave, or all of a sudden become all that she hoped they would be, and if they do, would it indeed be real? if the girl who might be pregnant is the one who refuses to feel the love, will the possibility of having a child with the other person break through the wall she has put up? or will it result in her not telling the guy about the child? will it lead to the end of the relationship, or will it make her give into what she's been feeling all along and face her fears? either way, the girl feels like a fish out of water in this situation because it seems like it is the first time she has had to deal with such a situation as this. the clear blob is the "antibodies" possibly like the spermicide which may not have worked in this situation as she might be pregnant. also the clear blob may represent how transparent the person is in the relationship that shows the love to the other person. the clear blob also may be the person in the relationship who possibly has gotten the girl pregnant and they don't have love for her, and they are not a solid person because they were just in it for sex. they are an empty body, hence the blob being clear, wobbly, and unable to hold a form of any shape for very long. they are unreliable and unable to show their emotions. the blob is not really shown in the same space as the girl either, so that relates to the distance between the two people, and how inconsistent, and hollow this relationship really is. |

| i fully agree with pretty much everything you said here. i love what you say about the 'moon' lyric. i can totally relate to that, as i have had to bring out my fighting survival spirit in the past few months to just get my basic needs met. i like the 'Autumn' thing you said too. totally can see that, that way as well. i have issues with my parents. never been suicidal but totally know about not being able to share things with them because they will just make it worse, and judge me or at the very most just say they can't help. so the 'wave good bye to ma and pa' interpretation, i can relate to as well. good job with this song. i like what you had to say about it. :) | |

| I think it's about a person in a relationship or just in general having to deal with attention deficit disorder (ADHD). They don't want to be misunderstood, and sometimes things are great, but also sometimes things are bad, and a person with ADHD never means to cause a problem but sometimes it happens. They never mean to take out their feelings on others, and they feel like they just need to be understood from their point of view, by others. People with ADHD have issues with picking up on social ques as well as interacting socially in general. Because of this, and many other issues that go along with ADHD, often people with ADHD are misunderstood by others, and this song is their plea to not be. | |

| i had a similar experience. we never said the words to each other, and he was graduating and it was only a semester that we had together, but it was so so so magical. and we had code names for each other in colors. his was and still is yellow. we couldn't define what we had/have, but it is something special, a magnetism. i can't help but dream and or brainstorm what could become of him and i. it was a few years ago that he and i first met, and we are still toying with the idea of 'us'. i feel like it's about a person who has adhd. and another person said to them that if that's all they're gonna be, they'll be a waste of time. like, the person with adhd needs to not let it define them, and improve themselves, not be an adhd person but a person who happens to have adhd. these lyrics go along with my idea of this song: ""Will I get better? Or stay the same? I found I always move too slowly Can't lift a finger, can't change my mind I never knew till someone told me that" the adhd person wonders if they will ever overcome this condition they have. they know that they mess up all the time, are slow, lazy, and find it hard to change the way they think about things to the way everyone else who is normal thinks. they never knew that they were different until someone finally told them that they were, and that it may be because of adhd. If that's all you will be, You'll be a waste of time You've dreamed a thousand dreams, None seem to stick in your mind Two points for honesty It must make you sad to know that Nobody cares at all " adhd causes a person to have dreams, but then not stick with them, they constantly change their minds instead. often when a person has adhd, it feels like no one cares at all because often no one knows its adhd, not even the person who has it, if they haven't been diagnosed. adhd is widely under-diagnosed, especially for the quiet daydreamer type. also, people with adhd speak their minds often because they have no filter. so they can be quite honest a lot of the time. so, two points for that. and two points for the person who helps diagnose adhd honestly for a person. |
