Tool – The Grudge Lyrics 11 years ago
The act of holding a grudge against someone is indicative of a narcissist or psychopath who would force their will upon others as we have in our pathocracy. A ponerized society would serve the elite few at the expense of the rest. Now we are just an inconvenient nuisance (those who actually have a conscience,) and through the burgeoning police state they think they have total control, but they do not. Those people that seek to know the enemy so as to defend themselves can succeed at fighting the control system if they understand what alchemy really is. Real alchemy is Work on the self. Work, as in Gurdjieff. Hence, "give away the stone, let the waters kiss and transmutate these leaden grudges into gold.
It will all come crashing down for the psychopaths in power. Their entropic power grab will collapse in upon itself, for that is how destructive it is. Saturn is representative of cosmic forces at work on our planet right now. All and everything is what Gurdjieff called his trilogy. And so the powers that be have a grudge to settle with us. Only if we transmute the soul through the Work can win the grudge match.

Tool – Faaip de Oiad Lyrics 11 years ago
Extradimensionality or hyperdimensionality is a very difficult concept for most people to grasp. Like a 3-dimensional being protruding into Flatland, it does not fit into our narrow reality tunnel. Just because they are more advanced does not mean they are benevolent. A hyperdimension relative to our realm would have a completely different set of physical laws. Now, with abilities and technologies with these implications, imagine interfering with and controlling a planet like Earth from this hyperdimension. Just as dogs and cats can't conceive of the level of our awareness, we can't conceive of theirs. That is why there is so much weirdness associated with these phenomena. Laura Knight Jadczyk details these cryptogeographic beings in her books, primarily The Wave.

Tool – Pushit Lyrics 13 years ago
The Yin Yang sums up these lyrics pretty well. Polarity, duality, energies combing to become greater than the sum of their parts or canceling each other out, always containing some part of the other within themselves. Light and dark, self and other, being and non-being, male and female, or even just two people in a relationship regardless of gender. It's the magnetic push-pull phenomenon. This can be applied to many spectrums/polarities and interpreted in many different ways.

Dizzy X – Lost Angeles Lyrics 13 years ago
"Here's to" is repeated throughout the song, in the sense of recognizing or making a tribute.

The possibly rhetorical questions "Does anybody really know what's taking over?" and "Does anybody really know what's going on?" make reference to the general ignorance to the deeper issues affecting us all right now.

Los Angeles is called Lost Angeles because in some form, in some ways, LA has "lost its way." The song, however, has an optimistic overtone.

All of the things they are doing in Lost Angeles (moving around, breaking some ground, being lost and found) are positive actions.

Dante's verse asks "Remember the days when we used to try?", reflecting on the past. Liz's verse does the same with "all of the words that I don't regret", but also looks to the future with "all of the hell that I've yet to pay", in the sense of karma.

Lastly, "Here's to the break of the champagne glass, there goes the moment that never lasts" reminds us of the transient nature of all moments, beautiful or otherwise, so appreciate them.
