Brilliant song. Tells of broken-hearted love, plain and simple. The singer, finally wise to what happened ("out of the dark".."see you chrystal clear"), is angry and determined that this mistake will not repeat itself. Further, she vows that if he denies the relationship and disrespects her, she will destroy him (figuratively). In her hurt, she is reminded of the waste...the possibilities for the both of them ("we almost had it all"). She remembers their love ("leave me breathless") even through the pain(scars). The refrain serves to remind the lost lover that pain will come from this: pain of the singer and pain for the perpetrator. "Rolling in the Deep" refers to the relationship: the deep of the love they couldve shared, the deep of pleasure, prosperity and happiness. I see even an overt sexual reference here too- in(her)deep...nuff said. She has no story to tell- she will not run her mouth about THEM- but he has, and the pain he will feel is just reward for his "talking outta school". She sees that he will despair without her, but she is determined that any love is for her and her alone("mine wont be shared"). "Throw your soul.." refers to his "catting around", chasing unsatisfying relationships, and after "counting his blessings" finding out they are meaningless and shallow.Her sorrow, however, will be treasured gold in value, and continue to teach her, while he will continue to "reap what he sows". "Played it.." refers to their love: He played around with it, like he was drumming a pencil on a desk- uncaring, unconcerned, lackadaisical...and now, she is done with the playing.
