ok, so to sum things up: 1. the human race has run its course: "The dust has finally settled on the field of human clay" "Just enough light has shown through" "To tell the night from the day" 2. God's spirit has left man, he is but dust now: (Genesis 6:3) "We are incomplete and hollow" "For our maker has gone away" "The stillness is so lifeless with no spirit in your soul" 3. now man must live without God's spirit in an age to come: "Like children with no vision do exactly what they're told" "Being led into the desert" "For your strength will surely fade" "We'll surely melt in the rain" "Frantic, faction, focus" "The world breathes" "And out forms this misconception we call man" "But I don't know him" "No, I don't know him" 5. Psalm 78:39 He remembered that they were only flesh and blood, a breeze that blows and does not return. Psalm 103:14 for he knows how we are formed, he remembers that we are dust. Job 10:9 Remember that you molded me like clay. Will you now turn me to dust again? The list goes on and on, but I think it shows succinctly the Song Meaning. |

Genesis 6:3 "And the Lord said--my Spirit shall not always strive with man." Matthew 12:31-32, Jesus says to the Pharisees, "Therefore I say to you, every sin and blasphemy will be forgiven men, but the blasphemy against the Spirit will not be forgiven men. Anyone who speaks a word against the Son of Man, it will be forgiven him; but whoever speaks against the Holy Spirit, it will not be forgiven him, either in this age or in the age to come" I think Creed is playing upon the age to come. |
