| The National – Don't Swallow the Cap Lyrics | 12 years ago |

"I have faith but don't believe it. It's not there enough to leave it." Personally I interpret this verse as someone struggling with leaving his religion and come to terms with being an atheist. "I have only two emotions, careful fear and dead devotion. I can't get the balance right." This is about someone who can't tell whether he believes in god because of fear of not fitting in with others or whether he really believe in god with all his heart. "Everything I love is on the table. Everything I love is out to sea. I'm not alone. I'll never be." This is about him knowing that he's not the only atheist but it is too much to risk for for him to state his belief out loud. |

I think 'Us' here are women. About how media portrays them, how people make them a symbol, and how they're being treated differently to their male counterpart. >Living in a den of thieves - Middle East >Rummaging for answers in the pages - holy book -> Koran Those two lines kinda strike me about her portraying Arab women and how they're trying to justify their unjust treatment by rummaging pages in Koran. >We wear our scarves just like a noose >But not cause we want eternal sleep And those lines are probably about how many of them are forced to wear headscarves and it binds them in such kind of way. Overall I think it's about how feminism is contagious, that every woman will eventually get their own right and they are not just a symbol of oppresion. |

| The music in the middle of this song sounds like something from The Sims 2, which is awesome. | |
| Bloc Party – Blue Light Lyrics | 13 years ago |

| It doesn't sound like 'Power Out' at all. Anyway, why do I reply to a 7 years old comment? | |
| M.I.A. – Bad Girls Lyrics | 14 years ago |

Well, I don't really know about the meaning of those lyrics. But after watching the video and seeing all those guthras, hijab-clad women, and dessert I think it's pretty much about the Saudi women and the fact that they aren't allowed to drive. The music video is trying to portray that irony with pictures of women and men drifting alike. When a man drive, it's considered as okay. But when a woman drives she is being called as a bad girl. And it's not M.I.A. if it's not about politics, so this time she is having a go at Saudi Arabia and the inequality among women and men. |
