Wow, @birdcansing I've been listening to this song for years and I had no idea it was related to her getting a flat! This song has always struck me as touching on the disintegration of a relationship...the loss of a family unit, the loss of the potential to build something wonderful with someone. "..so close to a family way.." "..see how tough I can be, when you're making me smile sweetly.." Going through the motions, playing the game that everything's okay, when really, something is very stale. "..I need to see the changing of the leaves, of the guard, of your guitar, as it's leaving.." Pretty incredible song. |
