| Picture Me Broken – Skin And Bones Lyrics | 13 years ago |
| To me, it's about Anorexia. First off, the title, "Skin & Bones". Anorexics are "Skin and bones". The line "Hey dear, I fear, I'll watch you disappear" refers to starving themselves down to nothing. The fact that she calls them "Dear" signifies that she knows them. "I know, you'll go, until you're skin and bones" basically means that the singer knows that the person who has the eating disorder is very determined to be "skinny". "Your reflection's all you're worth" means that the person with the eating disorder only measures their self-worth by what the mirror tells them. They don't think their personality is worth anything, especially if they're not skinny. "I know it's not much longer until you faint" - Anorexics have a tendency to black out or faint a lot, from starving themselves. "Cause you'll never love yourself at all" basically means that she's never skinny enough, and she feels like she needs to keep getting skinnier. "Cause everything you touch will fall to pieces" - that line can be interpreted a few ways, I'm sure, but to me, it's like the anorexia victim feels overweight and heavy, and feels as if she'd break anything she touched. "Wake up, Skin and Bones" - I think the singer is trying to tell this person to wake up and see what they're doing to themselves. (Of course, I think she's calling the person "Skin and bones" as a sort of name)"You're so alone" probably meaning that she's troubled, maybe somewhat a loner? I also know that sometimes people use Anorexia as a sort of punishment for themselves, so it may have something to do with that, but I can't be sure. "Your sickness feels like home" - The anorexic is so used to being that way, it feels like home to them. Like.. it would be uncomfortable to be normal. Almost as if they like how they're living. Hard to explain that part. "Find some control" meaning don't eat. Anorexics think that not eating gives them a way to control. "Starve til you're beautiful" meaning that they don't think they're beautiful, but they will be once they're skin and bones. "Pulse is fading.." - your heart beat slows after a while of not eating. You also feel cold, always. Well. That's my interpretation of the song. It's by no means the ONLY possible meaning, but just how I see it. Also, I agree with "A Queen Of Snow", it does sound like she's rather angry at this person for choosing that path, but if you listen close, it's as if she's mourning the loss of the person this Anorexia victim used to be. | |

| I love his voice! <3 Great song! | |
| Pierce the Veil – Besitos Lyrics | 13 years ago |
| This song is really good, but it confuses me. If it's from a girl's perspective, then it kind of sounds like she's a lesbian, (but since Vic is a guy and he wrote it about HIS relationship, then obviously she's straight.) because he wrote it from HER perspective, yet it goes to ''and she said..'' and it switches points of view so quickly. Also, on the lyrics posted here, the quotation marks aren't in the correct places, furthering my confusion. It's a really great song, I just don't understand it all that well. | |
| Nickelback – How You Remind Me Lyrics | 13 years ago |
| ''I never made it as a wise man'' <-- He didn't make good decisions. ''I couldn't cut it as a poor man stealing'' <-- She no longer feels sorry for him. Perhaps that also goes along with ''I've been to the bottom of every bottle'' (Drinking habit? Alcoholic?) and she's sick of him being drunk always. Alcohol could either be used by him as a way of dealing with their relationship failing, or the reason the relationship is failing. ''Tired of living like a blind man'' <-- He's not seeing obvious things, perhaps she's cheating on him (because he's an alcoholic and the relationship is failing?) and he either chose not to see it, or he's just now seeing it. ''I'm sick of sight without a sense of feeling'' <-- Their relationship is failing, they see each other, but they don't feel the love between them anymore. (Alcoholics drink to numb things, too, so he could just be merely 'existing' without feeling anything)''This is how you remind me'' Gosh, this could mean so many things.. but if we're continuing with the pattern, I'd say that she's somehow reminding him that he's an alcoholic.. what 'he really is'. Kind of obvious if you go on that path, my only problem is that the one verse ''It's not like you to say sorry, I was waiting on a different story, this time, I'm mistaken, for handing you a heart worth breaking''.. Not unless she's telling him this. Well.. that's one meaning of hundreds. Hope I helped. Of course, everyone sees it differently, so it's really what works for you. After all, that's the whole point of music, isn't it? To find your own meanings? | |
| All Time Low – Painting Flowers Lyrics | 13 years ago |
| He wants her to love him again.. perhaps there was a previous breakup? And now they're back together and he's trying to impress her.. but maybe she's selfish and thinks she's too good for him, when really she isn't. She's just so blind by her conceited nature to see that he loves her more than she thinks, and inside, it annoys him and hurts him, yet he can't help but love her because he can't just let her go, no matter how hard he tries. Or maybe the relationship is like a dream? Or maybe the lines ''If nothing is true, what more can I do? I am still painting flowers for you'' means that maybe she lied to him and he doesn't know what to believe, yet he still loves her, even though nothing she said was true..? Great song, by the way. | |

| ''For God's sake, turn around!" ...Do you hear the raw emotion in that? Beautiful.. absolutely gorgeous. | |
| Maroon 5 – Won't Go Home Without You Lyrics | 14 years ago |
| I first heard this song one night while I was trying to fall asleep. It literally made me sit up, turn on the light, and write down any lyrics I could hear on a piece of paper so I could look it up and download it the next day. In general, I love Maroon5! Adam Lavigne's voice is.. well, I don't want to say 'Beautiful', as he's a guy, but it's really something special. He puts so much emotion into his songs and it makes you instantly like it. But anyways, amazing song! | |
| Pierce the Veil – Stay Away From My Friends Lyrics | 14 years ago |
| Basically, I think it's about the end of a relationship. Also, it sounds like she hung out with his friends while they were together, now he's telling her to stay away from them so 1. He doesn't have to see her, and 2. She might take his friends from him, and he needs them to help him get through the breakup. Really beautiful song. Pierce the Veil really knows how to stir up deep emotions and thoughts with their songs. Absolutely gorgeous song. (: | |
| Escape the Fate – Cellar Door Lyrics | 14 years ago |
| What I don't understand is that he heard her calling, but when he found her, she was 'not breathing at all'. What/why did she call out? That could make a big difference in the song meaning. She could have overdosed, and didn't wanna die, but was making some sort of sound and by the time they got to her, she wasn't able to be saved. Or perhaps she made a sound when she shot herself? Or she screamed for help when she heard him walk in and someone killed her? There's also the twist where he says ''We walk through the doorway, heard you calling from the hall''. Is he in the hall? Or is she? Then how did she get to the bedroom? And here's another twist (and this one is a little far-fetched, I'll admit) Perhaps when he walked through the door (coming from her funeral), his memories of her came flooding back. He could be in the hallway, and in past times she was in the bedroom calling out to him, and when he got to the bedroom, she's ''not breathing at all'', meaning she's not there, she's dead. ''I drug your body, to the cellar where we lay'' Then, he doesn't want to remember her and he drags her stuff to the cellar. Maybe they laid together in the cellar in the past? Then ''The wax, it melts away, I kiss your face'' <-- Also a memory. ''Now we are starting to love you more'' (By this point, I'm starting to wonder if he has a complex.. sort of like Smeagol from Lord of the Rings, because he says 'we' a lot) He loves her more and realizes how much he loves her now that she's gone. ''Your body's on the canvas I've painted on the floor'' Maybe he's throwing things and they're breaking (such as picture frames) and it's all the things from when she was alive that were special to her. Hence the 'body' reference I made earlier. Then the chorus ''Now you wait, like the change in (and) the pain, it goes on for so long'' <-- This could mean she's waiting in the ground for him, and he's young so it might be awhile. Also, I'd like to put in that if it is, in fact, 'in' not 'and', then it could be referring to how when you're in pain, you sort of get used to it after a while, but if you change out of the routine that has gotten used to the pain, then you feel the pain all over again and it feels like forever until you can get used to it again. Think of when your foot falls asleep. ''It's so wrong'' Maybe he's thinking that it's wrong without her being alive and with him and that everything feels wrong without her there and they'll never be able to live their life as they had planned. And really, if you just follow that train of thought, you get where it's going. Also, when he's describing her as art, I think he's looking at a photograph, except for when he says ''And down below..'' I think he means while she's in the ground and she's rotting away, because she's dead. ''I lost control'' Maybe he's crying and going crazy because she's gone? Like I said, this meaning is very far-fetched, but it was unique and I didn't see it in the comments, so I thought I'd share. Sorry for the long paragraph, it's just something to think about and consider, you know? Beautiful song with a lot of possible meanings! (: | |
| Blessthefall – With Eyes Wide Shut Lyrics | 14 years ago |
| I think it's about a long distance relationship. ''Look up see the sky that I do'': Maybe he's telling her that if they look up at the sky together, they'll feel closer, since he's not there to hold her. Then he wants to let her know that she makes him happy, and he's the luckiest man alive to have her. ''And if God takes me before you, I just want you to know I love you'': He's telling her he loves her. ''I miss you, baby close your eyes, let's meet in our dreams tonight'': (My own far-fetched opinion here) He misses her and it's like he's trying to tell her 'Dream of me, because I'll be dreaming of you, always' or maybe it was a phrase that was secret and special to them, that meant something more than what it suggests. Either way, it's a beautiful song; very deep and emotional. (: | |
