This song is about a person that the singer was in a relationship with. They didn't really care about the relationship but they cared about the person so now that the relationship is over they feel bad that they can't be friends with the person. The part that Kimbra is singing, in my opinion is a response to the first verse. The significant other is explaining why they cant even be friends with the person anymore. All in all, this song explains how the two best relationships I have ever had ended. So whenever I hear it I can't help but feel something. Great song. |
