I am captivated by this song right now. At first I just loved the sound of it and I didn’t pay any attention to the words, but then I started to pay attention to the lyrics and slowly realized what deep meaning it has. This song speaks directly to my heart as I am about to turn 40 this year, and I am struggling to figure out what this means in my life. Trying to figure out how to hold on to the precious memories of the past, but yet let them go and move forward at the same time. We all share these same memories of youth–the confusion when we “require certain skills” that we don’t yet have, the roller coaster emotions that “change with the wind”, the beautiful nights spent holding hands and staring up at the stars, sharing secrets and dreaming about the future. All I can say is, beautiful song. Beautiful song. |
