| Personally i dont see how this song isnt even more popular. The tune is awesome, especially the beginning guitar and drum intro that gives it a really quiet and eerie feeling. The lyrics are beautifully written as well, i think it really displays a feeling of hopelessness and demotivation in a unique way. | |

| I think it was about Brett's grandmother. | |
| Alice in Chains – Brother Lyrics | 14 years ago |
| Songs like this arent only amazing in sound and lyrics, but they truly do teach you lessons about life. Take this one for example, that shows results of two brothers having a distant relationship for a long period of time. These songs hold alot of wisdom within them. | |
| Mother Love Bone – This Is Shangri-La Lyrics | 14 years ago |
| I think it is about how basic things such as the feeling he gets playing music are what satisfy him. Traveling the world and writing a million songs was boring, but simply being on stage and expressing himself was what completed him, rather than the hype of the outside factors of touring or the music industry. | |
| Candlebox – You Lyrics | 14 years ago |
| Thats a great thought. I definitly believe the verses could be about the overwhelming amount of attention and harrasment the person got from people around him. I think the chorus takes a more sypathetic stand "i cry for you, i die for you," about how he cares so much and would sacrifice the world but still just wants to be left alone in return. | |
| Alice in Chains – Sea Of Sorrow Lyrics | 14 years ago |
| Following a person you really loved and discovering how foolish and cruel that person was, and finally calling them out on their actions and announcing they no longer hold any positive meaning in the persons life. Kick butt song by AIC, as always. | |
| Alice in Chains – I Stay Away Lyrics | 14 years ago |
| Such an amazing song. Possibly about how remaining isolated from the chaotic people and events in life give you the energy to overpower them. | |
| Alice in Chains – Acid Bubble Lyrics | 14 years ago |
| William Duvall mentioned at a live show that this song was about him growing up on the streets of some major city, although i forget exactly which area it was. I am guessing that when Duvall says lines like "you tried to kill me off, surprised i remain" he is getting back at all of the people in his area that left him stranded. I am the child that lives and dies in a corner, alone inside your mind" could mean he was imprinted in the minds of many people who failed to help him out of his poverty, and it might have given them alot of guilt. I think it also speaks of the scars he recieved from his experiences and also at times stooped to those peoples levels when he says "You cant remove the stain, a scale breaks impossible, afraid we are the same". A fantastic song by the band that i believe demonstrates Duvall's childhood struggles very vividly. | |
| Alice in Chains – Sunshine Lyrics | 14 years ago |
| I am under the impression that is definitly about a father leaving a family where the mother and especially son are brought down by their tied emotions about him. "A-one-time" could refer to the father being with the mother one time and never again showing up after the kid was born, and later the son having mixed feelings about him when he says "Sweet love my labor, i dont care no more." I believe this is defintly about one of the band members struggling house lives during their childhoods. | |
