| Crowded House – Catherine Wheels Lyrics | 9 years ago |

I would agree that this song is about a messed up relationship where the female partner has been abused and she's finally broken free. My take is that she commits suicide as it is the only way she can see to escape. On a side note, this song goes back to the days of Split Enz and was written by Neil and Tim Finn and then resurrected during the "Woodface" sessions with help from Nick Seymour. Tim's harmonies on the chorus are breathtaking. |

Definitely. One night stand with a female friend ("and when you wake up, in yesterday's make up, you left me with a message, can we still be friends?") The singer and her friend allow things to escalate ("come and chase me through the night, and feel this fine line escalate.") Then there is the next morning...where the singer is perhaps hoping for something more to develop...but for the friend it was just a one night thing ("can we still be friends"). |

I think the first line should be: "I kiss the wind and made the rain, jealous enough to fall for days" The beginning of the third verse also is wrong. It's not "Now I kiss the ground..." it's "Now I kiss the wind and made the rain, jealous and it falls for days" |

| Split Enz – Six Months In A Leaky Boat Lyrics | 14 years ago |
| It's using the story of the colonization of New Zealand as a metaphor for his battle with depression. The "six months in a leaky boat" could be an actual trip of a settler and it could be a great description of what it feels like when your brain isn't working quite well! His journey from depression to being in a healthier mental state is contrasted with the journey taken by the early colonial settlers. Really a pretty brilliant lyric. | |
