I think this song is about how the dream of being rich corrupted the dream of being free and happy in America.
I kinda feel I'm missing something on this one though. |

This is really an existensial song. The life of a homeless person, free of any responsebility or bills, taking pleasure in the small victories in daily life, such as convincing ticket takers at some bridge to show compassion and hand out a few bucks or drinking grain alcohol may well be as rewarding as anything else. You're free from the fears of the middle, upoper and lower class of loosing your job, bills and social hysteria. Free to enjoy the sunshine every day but also it's a hard life because there's no steady income and you have no dental coverage.
Basically the song is saying, this is one way to live and it has some advantages, more beautiful than you'd think and full off life and experience, but it's not an easy life, you'll die young and it won't look pretty to others. |

This song is about the irony of alcohol being a legal drug while being one of the most dangerous and hurtful of them and how a alcohol user most certainly is as much a drug user as anyone addicted to anything else.

This song is a conversation between two extremes of society, the very successfull and the homeless bums and the similarities that tie them together as well as the hopelessness of both and their utter uselessness to most of society. Life's irony as shown by NOFX numerous times.
Personal comment: I also think this is one of the best on this album! |

Basically a quick run through of the general view/prejudices on homeless people. |

In the context of the album it seems pretty clear this song is about religion. No religion in particular, any of those bags of lies. |
