Can't believe more people haven't written about this song. Like Goin against your mind, I think this song's about opening up your mind. Not embracing conventional wisdom and how some people will never be able to see past their own beliefs. What makes them strong is that sometimes you just can't help but try to get through to them. Is it any mistake that BTS are so psychedelic in their music and psychedelic drugs are known to open your mind. |

Generally I always felt this song was about how our ego makes us blind. We have to break down the walls we put up to have an open mind. He chants go against your mind over and over how can it not be about breaking down the walls we put up? |

I agree with fortheloveof, spot on. A very person song and Doug is a genius to put words together so beautifully. I love so many BTS songs but this is my favorite. Music and lyrics of this song bring out so much emotion. |

O.K. My take on this song. It's about a couple. "She says wake up......." she is afraid of dying wondering why he's not or pretends he not. "I keep stealing........." He's saying he is just focusing on his love for her while he can. "Birds are leaving........" Everything ends. "One of us..........."
He knows they will at least be together till the end. To sum up the chorus. We are born with nothing and we die with nothing and both agree not to be buried but cremated. 2nd verse. "She says if..........." same as second part of chorus." I lay smiling......" again he would rather live in the moment and not think of death like there children who are sleeping peacefully. |
