It's an idealistic song then because sometimes wedges develop that cannot be pieced back together. Sometimes there is too much water and it doesn't go under the bridge; rather, it floods everything and kills everthing in its wake. I know this for a fact. And I am counting the days until the end. I am anxiously waiting a brand new start and your interpretation does not fit into my life. |

One of P!nk's best. I love the song. It's catchy and energetic; it's independent-minded; it's in-your-face; and it's her removing the "S" for sucker label the guy sees on her forehead. She leaves him to himself (or to some other sucker that will put up with him). Great song. |

Creative song, but overplayed. About someone who looks forward to the weekend (fun) but doesn't give a crap about the person he's with until s/he's useful to him/her. It's a favorite again this week. Enjoy the chase:) |

WoW. I don't see/hear it. Stupid me thought it was about feeling that one is going out of his/her mind due to boredom. I like Kaweenuh's take on the song. |

Such a simple song, yet beautiful. It's one of the few (very few) songs I like of this band's. I need to research them and the time in history to figure out why and how they changed music (and possibly culture). I don't get it. I just don't get it. |

There's something dreadfully wrong if many fans wonder why it was omitted:) It sux. I didn't realize they wrote this song. I hope they never performed it:) Glad I found it, though, as I didn't think the Beatles were capable of creating such a sorry track. |

I concur. Fighting over time wears down a person's self-confidence. It's not a good way to built either trust or love. I agree with you in that fighting hightens feelings and even hurtful feeling is better than nothing. Love and hate are powerful emotions, even if hate is negative. Indifference is neither; it's apathy. Most people would pick being hated (especially temporarily) over being ignored. |

'I had to be cruel to be kind" would NOT support abortion. I'm quite sure the baby (who had a heartbeat and brainwaves at the time and thus was a growing human and not a ROCK) would not consider death an act of kindness. This song could be about anything that caused a parent to be seperated or even emotionally distant. I'm going with adoption because it's the least selfish gift an expectant mother can give her growing child. (Yes, in your eyes I'm self-righteous. I'll wear it proudly on this topic) |

Well, I sure as heck AM correct when I say that each person shouldn't be judged, but if you're gonna do it than at least KNOW the person first. I make no apologies. And I am tired of you thinking my confidence is arrogance. |

This is really a sore subject with me. You 'two' have such a warped view. People are individuals, even if they may share similar characterists like having a lot of money; having power and status; etc. A poor person can be as fake (or more so) than a wealthy one. The poor person may be more inclinded to pretend/act as though s/he has more wealth; status; etc. Or s/he may fake being a victim. Why is it always open season on those who very likely have earned what they have through hard work and education? It sounds like envy to me. I have very little, but at one time I had quite a lot. I am a person, like you, who shouldn't be judged to begin with, but if you insist on it than at least be fair: get to know me first. These blanket statements about fake people are disheartening. |

Just because people live in fancy planned housing developments; shop at expensive stores; etc does not make them fake. Unless you know someone personally, you are making a judgment that you cannot substantiate. Fake comes in all races; ethic groups; income categories; etc. UGH. |

I disagree. I don't believe the artist would mean that knowing human nature. We all rely on others to one degree or another and depending on the situation. We are not solitary creatures. He doesn't want lies or kudos, but he does want something. |

9 comments? Just 9? This track is beautiful. I especially like the line about not wanting "careless praise." There's little worse than that. |

So why call it a song? Why produce it? And why listen to it? Man, there has got to be ONE song by this band I can muster up some respect for... |

Ugh. A song that not one human being can deciper but it's "amazing." Send me a check for $1,000 and I'll write you a book of non-sensical lyrics. |

Ugh. Obviously not a woman because pap smears check for more than abnormal cells (HPV; genital warts). But I agree the song is NOT about abortion. I don't know what it's about though. And in all honesty I really dislike this band. I thought I'd give their lyrics a "listen" in hopes that I find something I like. |
