For me it's about depression and how to deal with it. The recurring ''Will you recognize me'' may be about the fact that depression changes or at least has great influence on your mental state and way of thinking. And with that change people who you know may not 'recognize' you. Some won't be able to cope and will leave;''Will you recognize me, when I lose another friend? Will you learn to leave me, or give me one more try again?''. In the first part of the song she's trying to fight against the depression by trying to stay positive;Oh heaven, oh heaven, I wake with good intentions''. the ''Oh heaven'' part is a cry/shout of desperation, she just doesn't know what to do about it anymore since ''the day alwayst lasts too long''. When she says:'' Then I'm gone'' she, unless her many attempts to fight it, basically loses against the depression and it takes over. |
