| Pink Floyd – Hey You Lyrics | 14 years ago |

Hey I just signed up to hopefully answer your question if you still have it. A couple interesting things to understand about Pink Floyd is their influences. Yes, i believe the Wall is about a person isolating themselves from the world because bad things happened to them. Like Another brick in the wall part 1, is referencing Roger Waters ( one of the lead singers) Father's being killed in the war. IF you watch the movie, which is very good, there's things that reflect Syd Barrett, one of the founding members of Pink Floyd, who went insane in their early stages of stardom. Wish you were here, the album is a lot about Syd and other things. Especially if you read they lyrics to Shine on you crazy diamond. It describes Syd. There's references to Syd also in the movie, such as him shaving off his eyebrows (which he did) and watching tv, while a cigarette burned to his knuckles unsmoked by him. It looked like the guy above hadn't responded and I felt I had to, because in all honesty, Pink Floyd is almost a part of me. Ciao. Hopefully that helps. I'm sure there's a lot of great bands that incorporate personal feelings and situations into their music, but Pink Floyd was genius as to incorporate their lives into the music by the feeling, lyrics, and song, but also being able to make each listener realize what bricks are in his or her own personal walls, etc. |
