| maybe it's a song about the battles she faces against herself. Watch the video, she's literally fighting herself, and the lyrics could be that she knows that who she's being isn't who she is, and she's frustrated with herself because she doesn't do anything about it. I don't know, maybe I'm wrong, but I could definately relate to my interpretation of this song. | |

| this song is about how great the 90s were for him, and how he wishes to go back because so. He doesn't like the modern age, because of how much it's changed. He doesn't like the way everything has turned out- how everything is based on money, technology, and material. Back in the 90s, it wasn't all about what you've got and how to buy people. Back in the 90s, impressing people was priceless. I love the lyrics of this song, because I agree with its message. Even if I was born in 1996, and I have no idea what it was like, I could still imagine what it was like, and it would've been nice to grow up in a world like that. This song is perfect. The lyrics definitely go with the sound. | |

I think this song is about an affair, but from the man's point of view. I had no idea what it was really about when i'd first heard it, but now, as i read the lyrics over and over, it really does seem to fall into place. In the first verse, Turner is having a flashback of a fight that he got into with his wife/girlfriend, while in the room with a prostitute or other girl. Maybe the "red hot revelation" his her way with her mouth as they move further into the affair. It makes him "wanna blow the candle out just to to see if you glow in the dark" is just the sex that he wants. and then in the second verse, it's almost like he's returning back to his home after all the "fun", and he's referring to it as a booby trap because of all the troubles he is facing in his life. Kind of like 'oh back to my old life now." when he puts the batteries in his thinking cap, i think he means that he needs to think carefully of what he's gonna tell his wife so she doesn't suspect him of cheating. just this whole song could be interpreted from the one committing the affair's view. Just listen closely, as the words just all fall perfectly into place for this situation. I guess there really is a song for everything :-) |
