Regina Spektor – Laughing With Lyrics 13 years ago
Obviously I typed too fast and it could use some revision, but the bigot is not worth my time and attention. Hopefully people will choose other artists who are not in love with their egos and who feel they must tear down what is sacred to other all because they are gay. Man, she is so immature. She's NO DIFFERENT than an artist who sings about his anti-gay, anti-black, anti-Muslim attitudes, but sadly so many listeners just don't get it because she spews the same hatred that they feel. Ugh.

Regina Spektor – Laughing With Lyrics 13 years ago
Regina is one of the most modern arrogant, prejudiced, and immature artists "performing" today. Perhaps if she took the time to actually attend mass/church, listen to the sermons/homilies; give back by helping those less fortunate as so many church folk do, she just MIGHT have a clue. Then again, the arrogant and prejudiced don't care; they are happy in their own self-love words where they justice 'tolerance,' 'inclusiveness,' and "diversity" for everyone BUT Christians.

"No one laughs at God on the day they realize. That the last sight they'll ever see is a pair of hateful eyes"...goes to show her arrogance when she obviously lacks knowledge. There is no hate in God's eyes. He clearly loves all. It's sin he hates...NEVER the sinner. And as in every "profession," (preachers are fallible men) there will be those who spew crap...NOT God's words. Yes, God has rules he expects his children to follow, and often those rules are difficult and unpopular because they tell us that the way we are behaving is wrong and needs change. That is not "hate." What IS hate is Regnina. She is NOT an artist. She's simply a bigot. You couldn't pay me to listen to her. Thankfully God loves her and forgives her for her human fraility. He's much kinder than I; I am working on it, though. It's a continuous lesson.

Burl Ives – Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer Lyrics 13 years ago
Before a Scrooge or Grinch comments, Burl did NOT write this song. He was also not the first to perform it. Burl sang it in 1964. (His is the voice in the movie.) Gene Autry, I believe, had the original score.

Burl Ives – Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer Lyrics 13 years ago
Another of Burl's. For those of us who grew up with the famous movie (which I watched again this year), nobody will ever be able to fill Burl's shoes when it comes to this cherished Christmas favorite. The song itself shares such important lessons about love, acceptance, friendship, loyalty, courage, and even bullying.

Burl Ives – Holly Jolly Christmas Lyrics 13 years ago
It doesn't matter who covers this track, it belongs to Burl...heart and soul. Christmas (for me, anyway) would not be Christmas w/o the Burls, Bings, Andrews, Coles, Martin's, the large choirs, etc. They came at a time when life moved slower, choices were more limited, family was more important, modern technology was only just beginning, so songs (especially holiday songs) really mattered.

Well, just sayin' cause you know those teenagers. Kind of fickle. While Johnny is away visiting family, little Sally is probably having a ball. Get it? A ball ;) LOL

Madonna – Borderline Lyrics 13 years ago
No, I think you need to be your girlfriend's problem and not anyone else's. I think you're a lying piece of shit. So much for holiday cheer. May God have mercy on my soul, but I am sick of you.

Madonna – Borderline Lyrics 13 years ago
I think it's about borderline and aging men who date young girls who haven't a clue why the fake "men" are so jealous, rage, break things, stalk them, and get dumped by them after very short periods of time.

Tune-Yards – Es-So Lyrics 13 years ago
How difficult is it to get a very young woman who is broken, who drinks too much, and who's impressed (temporarily) with status into bed and into a short-term relationship. And how impressive is it for a older, immature, shallow, balding man to only be able to maintain these relationships for a few months, if that. WoW. Impressive. I guess her body is a wonderland, but only for a short time before becoming some other guys wonderland. LOL. Pathetic.

Tune-Yards – Es-So Lyrics 13 years ago
Thankfully there are quality men in this world who know what is important in a woman. Then there are the immature, insecure, shallow types who need a pretty arm hang who gives head to anyone she dates...and she dates plenty. So much for true love and true romance...just a game between older, skinny dudes with big egos and little penis's who must have a child to make them feel important. Too bad they usually get dumped quickly. Gotta watch those big children when it comes to dating!

Gwen Stefani – Cool Lyrics 13 years ago
And the difference is that some can count how long their lovers will last on one hand (if every finger represents a month) while others are seeking and will eventually find a lifelong relationship. Eventually that one person becomes the lifer. May the person I met Friday with the sparkling blue eyes be the one I've been seeking. And may every past love (or potential past love) become unimportant and just a memory. Amen.

Otis Redding – (Sittin' On) The Dock of the Bay Lyrics 14 years ago
I am always brought back to sitting in my friend's room on his bed as we listened to greats like Otis. We would chill for hours listening to music and he'd often explain lyrics to me. This song was one of my favorites, if not my favorite. All these decades later we're apart but still friends thanks to the Internet. He's seen me through a divorce and career loss and I've seen him through alcoholism; coming out of the closet; his career loss; homelessness; and now his recovery. This song will always be ours...a symbol of our childhood innocense and friendship.Just love Otis' talent...

Coldplay – Fix You Lyrics 14 years ago
491 comments?! You've GOT to be kidding me. It has even more than Closer by NIN's which accompanies the best video ever made. Dang! I guess I'm a minority here so show some tolerance. I hate this song. I detest it. It's premise is based on a fallacy. Nobody fixes another. It can't be done. We fix oursleves. And if we wait for others to fix us (at least attempt to, which is futile), we'll be waiting a lifetime. This is a song that essentially says just toss your hands in the air and some handsome stud on a white horse will ride in and make everything OK. Life doesn't work that way (even though I'd like for a handsome stud to ride in and listen to Closer with me when the lights are out and the moon is shining through the window.) Dang, that song gets me sidetracked and breathless;) Anyway, the SOUND of the song is nice. The BAND is excellent. I just hate the foundation of the lyrics, if that makes any sense.

WoW. I've impressed myself. I just realized how it ties in with Al Green's and Barry White's music. There is a connection!

LOL. Thanx for the laugh. Reminds me of asking an elderly woman if I could help her put her groceries in the trunk for her. She turned to me with a pepperspray glare and w/o words let me know I was a rapist/murderer.

Excellent interpretation! "Her life itself, though, is dead to him. He doesn't care for her anymore." Well, isn't that special (taken from a Saturday Night routine:) Send me a message and we can discuss music. I'll have my own interpretation to provide.

Etta James – At Last Lyrics 14 years ago
OMG. RIP Etta. You were/are one of my favorite artists. And this song is so incredibly beautiful. I shall always remember the blonde hair color at a time in history when even something as unimportant as that was pushing boundaries. Very very sad news today, but her music will forever live on...

What is wrong with you? She's blond. She's thin. She says wow a lot. I think you'll be fine. When have you not landed on your feet? I apologized for being a b*tch. I don't apologize for tiring of being used online.
