| Hopes Die Last – Consider Me Alive Lyrics | 13 years ago |

I feel like this song is more of an "outside looking in" perspective. Maybe a secret affair or someone she used to love. The first couple lines.. I can see your perfect world, Trying to keep it alive. I don't know if I've been there before, But of that place I've dreamt for sure. It's as if he can see everything that has been happening with her. She's made this world where she can survive and she's trying to save it because it's falling apart. However, he doesn't really know if he has ever been a part of this world where she has found solace, if he's ever really been a good part of her life, but he really hopes that he has been a good person and helped her....He hopes that she included him so they can stay close. He loves her.... I can see you in your white wedding gown. Your hands heading too. I'll keep safe, will pull me safe. He can see her getting married, for better or worse, but he's saying that he's not gonna be hurt by her. He's going to protect himself, but he has faith her hands will keep him safe, like they always have. I can't let go, I can't let go. And I want to be there for sure, You'll never see me falling down. And I can't live in this moment, I can feel it. He wants to see her happy and married even though it kills him inside. He knows it's ripping him apart, but he knows that he wants to see her happy more. I gave my life away, So yours will be the best one. I know why I've been there before, 'Cause I'm not alone anymore. He let her take over, loved her so much that he gave her his all. He just wanted to make her happy. In this moment, he realizes that he has been in her perfect world before. He was once what she wanted, and that memory helps him never feel alone. Just what I think. |

| Mayday Parade – Stay Lyrics | 14 years ago |
| This song feels like this guy had a long commitment with a girl, but now he's having a hard time getting over her, so he shuts off his feelings until he has more control of them. When he does manage to gain control, he finds relief, but then his sadness comes up again and he misses her. He states that he's willing to take her back if she is willing as well, but instead she tells him she's cutting off contact. Next he explains how he felt he was getting better and her actions are threatening to dampen his mood. He still loves her but has no outlet and regrets the original reason they broke up, and then he restates he'd take her back and explains what's become of him and remembers their time together. | |

I think this song is about a close relationship or some sort being torn apart. It starts off how let down and put out he is, and the next line seems to say that he loves her, but she doesn't love herself and possibly cuts. He tries to be her "knight" in shining armor, but he can't avoid the questions his friends ask, and he has to tell them the truth, even though, as said in the first line, he wasn't ready to tell them. I'm burned out like a bright light, I wasn't ready for this. You're adorable as hell, but I'm glancing at your wrist. Oh please have faith, I can be so cavalier. And when they start to ask questions I'll make sure to be clear. From here, he tells her to come clean with his friends, and she shuts him out of her life, maybe because of betrayed trust. Then he asks her to think about what she's done, and if this is really the way she should be handling this situation. When you see my friends, tell them hi for me. Tell them what you think about the way you handled everything. You turned and all you left me with was this broken key. So tell me what you think. This is self explanatory, they fought a lot and it kept them up at night. She obviously lied to herself a lot and ended up creating different "people" inside her, and he saw that and tried to help her see, but there were so many lies that she was lost, and he eventually couldn't handle her. Give it up for the long nights and all those terrible fights. Were you honest with yourself, every version of yourself? Did you get lost on the side of the road? If you keep acting this way I swear I'll never come home. In the chorus, the line "We walk alone on this broken road for eternity." is added. I feel this represents that their still trying to work things out, but there's a huge gap between them. Now he seems to be talking about "signing up", I thought, as in him signing up to come back to her and "manning up" by accepting his faults in the relationship and trying to fix his mistakes. He offers to try to be whatever she needs just to calm his mind, because he was worried about her due to her attention seeking or suicidal acts of cutting. Then he says that there is a place for them together, but it's extremely complicated. Sign me up, no regrets. Make a man out of me. And I won't say a word And I'll give all the things that you want And I need just to give me some peace. At the bottom of the ocean, there's a place for you and me. He tells her to lead him and tell him what to do, because she gave him the best memories, and when they split, it hurt. Lead the way, straight ahead. You gave me the time of my life and cut like a knife to the bone. Finally, he adds another addition to the chorus, seemingly a new start, or maybe she finally confronts her issues and solves them. However, due to the nature of this song, it could also be interpreted as she departs from him. When you see my friends, tell them hi for me. And tell them what you think about the way you handled everything. So neat and clean. Well, the world is full of such pretty things. So do your best for me. |
