I'm with Reflex1989 I don't know where the "settle down" came from but it sounds more like "Relax yourself girl, please that playa" It seems someone threw it on a lyric site somewhere and they all followed suit... |

I laugh when I read people applying their own meanings to songs because it's all subjective relativism. (when people say "we'll agree to disagree" it means the person who says it is bowing to cognitive disconnect and refusing to give up their opinion no matter how wrong they may be.) But what it comes down to is the only thing that matters is what the artist intended. After all the artist is the one who knows what the song was intended to mean. After that it's all nonsense. Sometimes a cigar is just a cigar. |

The early arguments on here are ridiculous. Slickvic was right early on and got chastised by people without a clue. Keenan has said that the theme of the album is addiction. (when looking at meaning it's alweays best to go with the artist's own interpretation when available after that it's all self effusive drivel by critics without a clue.) On this particular song it is about the addiction taking on the persona of the parent comforting the child against the outside world as the addict self-medicates to get themselves away from the things they find horrific. (Real and imagined.) |

The lyrics are posted on their website. It's "Won't you move away you fucking tornado" THe song is about dealing with a drug addict and putting distance between yourself and them because they will only drag you into their screwed up world. |

Keenan has said the album is about addiction, maybe not all necessarily about drug addiction but this song definitely. Anyone who ever smoked opium would see this connection. The color of the smoke rising and disappears. The languid mood and tone of the song wafts like a drug induced eyes-open dream. |

It's a bout sex "Overcome by your Moving temple Overcome by this Holiest of altars" What's the name of his vineyard? Merkin. What's a merkin? Look it up... and desire and the power of the "Moving temple" "Holiest of Altars" think anatomy folks. It's the power of the Puscifer... Sometimes if you look too deep you miss the obvious. |
