I disagree. It could be about any addiction. It could also be about gambling; repeat adultry; sexual addiction; addictive stealing; other risky behaivor; etc, and not being able or willing to give up the lifestyle/adddiction. Anyone who has an addiction (or who had one in the past), whether it be physiciological (sp?) or otherwise, could probably relate to this song. Excuse me for my opinion; any repetition; and apparently claiming that I know it all, but it's my take on the song. This morning I heard the song for the very first time and wanted to read others' interpretations. |

Not a bad song. It's a perfect song for a guy whose girlfriend dumped him because he accused her of cheating so now when he's not blowing smoke up someone's arse on line he is out looking for his next girlfriend to take him through the beautiful summer months. |

Thanks for the correction. Sounds like a song for a guy who knows he's going to bring a woman/girl back to his bed:) He the man! |

I have come to thoroughly dislike this song. I would like to shove it someplace. It's BORING and PREDICTABLE. |

It was ahead of its time and it is a GREAT song. Haven't had a lover in years, but I'm ready. It's nice being single. And it's nice hearing this song again...very motivating |

The song is about an adult, though. It references stealing children from (him). It could be about verbal abuse or arguments. I can't see where it's definitely about sexual abuse. I once worked with abused women/children and the worst abuse (in my unqualified opinion) is abuse of a boy at the hands of his mother. Mothers are supposed to be maternal and protect their young against everyone (strangers; acquaintances; the other parent in the home; etc). When a mother violates trust and her role in that way, the abuse is monumental to the development of her son. You brought up a very deep and sad topic. Sorry for interjecting... |

I didn't clarify. There were three major networks, but some markets also had PBS (as mine did). Perhaps you meant networks and not channels. |

There were more than 3 channels, but still not very many. Black and white wasn't too shabby; I recall not being happy when the screen went to color. Change isn't always easy:) As for the movie recommendation, it beats some of the other ones you've recommended. Let's face it...your taste in movies is NOT very good :) |

| Eurythmics – Here Comes The Rain Again Lyrics

I concur on all counts. And as everyone knows, the rain is temporary and also expected. It stays for awhile then there's a rainbow and gorgeous sunny weather. Each of us has the strength within to make it through those rainy periods. We will be rewarded with the sun: confidence; the beach; friends; music; gorgeous young beach babes (or guys)...just brighter days all around. The pain does go away; sometimes we just have to wait it out. Have always liked this song. |
