Madrugada – Majesty Lyrics 10 months ago
Good to see almost the correct lyrics. Just two lines to change, which also make better sense - I don't need to interpret them.
"Anyway those fights did drive me
And I was dying of thirst and I wasn`t growin' old"
should be:
"Anyway those fights did dry me
And I was dying of thirst and I was growin' old"

Steve Harley & Cockney Rebel – Make Me Smile (Come Up and See Me) Lyrics 1 year ago
From a few interviews he said it was about his band members saying they wanted to write songs for the band. It was at the end of a tour, Harley was making the lion's share of the money from the band as it was his songs being played. He said no, and except for the drummer, they left the band. He said:

He was very angry about them leaving, so "Make me smile" was about the band coming back one day and making him smile - unclear as to whether that would be a happy smile or a laughing at them smile.

"For only metal – what a bore" is a reference to them leaving for money.
"Brought the rebel to the floor” they shattered Harley.
"Blue eyes, blue eyes” is a term for innocence, because they were portrayed as victims and Harley was Mr Bad Guy.

Mojave 3 – Love Songs On the Radio Lyrics 9 years ago
Love this song. My take on it is not a sweet one.

Someone enchanted by a woman. Maybe he's one of her lovers, maybe he just idolises her from afar, maybe it's a one of encounter, either way she feeds him what he needs. Meanwhile, his sweetheart is elsewhere, hoping all the romantic things he tells her are true. Clearly they're not.

Mazzy Star – Give You My Lovin' Lyrics 11 years ago
@[octave:97] This is a song from when Hope sang with Sylvia Gomez before Mazzy Star, the duo being called "Going Home" - search YT. It was written by Sylvia. They supported Opal (which became Mazzy Star after Hope replaced Kendra Smith) in 1985.

However, and just a slight feeling, it could reflect Hope's initial attraction to Dave Robeck? Great song anyway!

Björk – Cover Me Lyrics 11 years ago
The meaning of this works on a few levels. Going hunting into the unknown of our psyches, it can be dangerous, but with the right spirit, and help from others sometimes, it's worth it. I wouldn't like to presume Bjorks inspiration for it.

The Plaid remix of this song on the Hyperballad EP is one of my fave ever songs, and takes Bjorks original masterpiece to a much deeper and darker level.

It reminds me of being in the stark elemental landscape of Iceland. Go hunting for mysteries up there and you will find danger and it will be worth it, just hope the cover you get is not snow or volcanic ash like it was nearly with me!

The Psychedelic Furs – India Lyrics 13 years ago
One of my fave songs, always gives me tingles. The meaning... no surprise no one else has suggestions, its all fucked up, sounds like reminiscences from a drugged night out.

Enya – On Your Shore Lyrics 14 years ago
On the other hand, with the language of "shore" and "as you are rising" its easy to see the spiritual side... I just prefer the romance interpretation :)

Enya – On Your Shore Lyrics 14 years ago
A beautiful song! I think this is expressing how it feels to be with a lover, the freshness, the timelessness and a deep security.

Its a longing for that long held fantasy to become real:
"Days and nights falling by
Days and nights falling by me.
I know of a dream I should be holding
Days and nights falling by
Days and nights falling by me"

And with that also that its about accepting that there is a someone who this is becoming real with. Bliss!
